My favorite has to be the Japanese Katana.

A Chinese broadsword or a pudau.

Anyone can use a crossbow, even infantry, who can focus training on other weapons. Longbows require a lot of training, and they might not be able to do as well in melee combat.

The katara is awesome for a short weapon, especially the tri-bladed katara.

The Cross Bow because I just like in the movies how everybody says fire and like a million arrows come down and kill everybody its just Epic!

Bolts. Crossbows shoot bolts, not arrows.
And I guess bows are more apt for an arrow rain. Crossbows are good for more direct shots. Just my opinion.
Crossbows are cool anyway, I do really like the english longbow however.
