George Bush Senior sent a letter to the writers of the Simpsons, after he saw the episode where he moves into the house across from Homer. He described it as,'the stupidest thing I've ever seen'. To which the writers replied,'Have you seen your kid?'
Nancy Astor: �Sir, if you were my husband, I would give you poison.� Churchill: �If I were your husband I would take it.�
As far as Churchill goes, nothing beats this legendary riposte in the House of Commons:
Bessie Braddock: Winston, you are drunk, and what's more, you are disgustingly drunk.
Churchill: Bessie, my dear, you are ugly, and what's more, you are disgustingly ugly. But tommorow I shall be sober, and you will still be disgustingly ugly.
The George Bush one sounds like a joke more than an actual event.

They may not have made good leaders, but they weren't stupid. Most people in America would make infinitely worse presidents.
Crappy leaders? Yes. Failures? Sure. Stupid? Not really. Smart? Still not really.
Anybody who can call Bush the dumbest human being in the world should understand that being president isn't a walk in the park.
Sorry, it's like a pet peeve. Every time someone says something bad about Bush, they always exaggerate. Those people themselves don't know any more than Bush. The only people who can call bush insanely stupid are the people who know a thing to about politics.

I saw it on the 20th anniversary special about the Simpsons. The writers were talking about who they've offended most, and one of them told the story about the George Bush episode. I've tried to find the exact clip on youtube, but they only seem to have the first of the 3 part mini series on youtube. It was on the second episode, so if anyone stumbles across it, please share.
