Well it's a real mess over there. 7.0 quake and tens of thousands dead and rising. I don't know about you but it seems like Earth is having more earthquakes, and they seem to get bigger every time. I guess this is what we get for abusing the Earth.

Haiti was far under prepared for any natural disaster. Doesn't matter what type. They're too dam* poor to ever be able to prepare. Every natural disaster, hundreds die, thousands do. It's the way life works.

That earthquake was catastrophic.Too many people died and many other lost everything they had.I don't think earth is taking it's vengeance for what we have done.Like pollution.It's a natural dissaster.Natural dissasters happend all the time in the past and won't stop.Unfortunatelly the fact is too many people died

I've heard estimates of up to 500,000. The only good thing about this is that the world response has been decent enough to prevent more needless casualties.
This is definitely terrible. And one thing i thought was mind-blowing was Pat Robertson's take on the situation.

They have too many people and not enough space the city had a population of over 3 million, it was built for about 500 thousand...

Go back to earth science, pollution and deforestation and what not has jack shit to do with earthquakes. Earthquakes are created when two tectonic plates collide against each other, the area is called a fault...hence the San Andreas fault. Explaining the reason the California has an earthquake every other day. (I'm exaggerating)
Thought 1) united states involvement: I think our involvement in the haiti earthquake is kind of absurd to do so. We are already in MAJOR debt, how can we afford to send money and food over there even through donation!?
Thought 2) The estimation of deaths: I my self wonder how the death toll is Estimated through the city, is it taken through each household death or a general number.
Thought 3) Our Needs: What we need to do is save our money for a while, If we were to have an earthquake to be honest i dont think any other countries would get involved with our financial, emotional or well being needs, i think they would leave us to be by our selves and figure it out.

The govt. is in debt not the people....the people are sending donations. Plus the red cross is an international org. so its not only us that are sending money.
