A friend brought up aninteresting question the other day, and I thought that I'd share it wwith you guys. If you had to choose a disability, would you rather be deaf, blind, or mute? Why? I would rather be mute because I could still communicate through writing and other than that the effect that it would have on my life would be minimal.

I would prefer to be blind because I'm a singer.

I would definitely choose being mute... then Id have an excuse to not talk to people.

The real debate would be between deafness and blindness... though I'd choose deafness. I'd hate to not be able to see, and Im an artist so.... yeah. Plus, not a big fan of walking into things.

I would rather be a mute. Hardly anybody can understand me anyways.

Mute, and here are the reasons why not for deaf and blind

Blind- humans get most of the information of their surroundings through sight.

Deaf- We are social creatures, and not everyone can understand, and respond to sign language.

Well, I'm severely colorblind and am also nearsighted, so blindness isn't too far away, but at the same time, I put such a great value on sight, I couldn't stand to lose it...

I love singing, so I would hate being mute and I love music so I would hate being deaf...

I guess, it would be sight because it is the easiest repair...
Though there is one person in the world that has a camera wired straight into her brain... It doesn't replace the eye, it just bypasses it. Her implant has 400 electrodes and so far she only uses 4 and can still see when something is there. It is estimated that at 50, she'll be able to detect lighting, 100 will be the beginning of full color, and anything beyond 200 will just be making the picture super crisp...
If I was in the same boat, I'd be willing to try it...

i would rather hit ur friend

Interesting and voilent revival but mainly pointless I fear.

Deaf, dumb or blind. I think mute just because there are other ways f communicating but its harder to replace eyesight and hearing. Or I could have all three and become really good at pinball

id rather be mute because it wouldn't affect my life that much and i could still communicate through things like morse code and writting and hand signals etc.

Better is having no disability. But if I had to choose, I think the best is being mute and the worst being deaf.
