what should we do about the Haiti earthquake if we rebuild the slums and unstable houses then they will be leveled again. we can't send money because of corruption and foundations can only provide limited help. Do we have to completley rebuild the country?
Or we can continue helping them rebuild and allow them to get back on their feet.
As far as I've known, lots of money has been blown off to send in US Troops, and also -- as far as I know, there still isn't reconstruction going on. They're not even doing anything monumental, why are we spending the cash we put towards food for Hatians on American soldiers?

Exactly. More of the aid is going into the occupation of the soldiers then actual food and other vital supplies. Soldiers with guns are not very helpful to a population lacking food and water.

America should do little to nothing. We are sill failing on our own economy and I learned something when in a conversation a while back. In N. Orleans there is still people who are paying taxes on houses that where destroyed in the hurricane! I find that very wrong. They are still suffering, homeless and unemployed and it took our own government several weeks to even get involved. And no one helped us. Why should we go help other people when we can't even support our own?
since according to the Mya and Nostradamus its happening soon
People have been predicting the end of the world since the start of humanity. People said the world was going to end in 2000, did it? People said it would end in 2001, nope. And Nostradamus predicted the end much, much, much farther in the future. I believe it was the year 3797 A.D. The Mayans could easily be wrong. They where mostly wiped out by combinations of natural events and war.
The Haitian government made a deal with the devil and they broke the deal and the devil got mad. God found out and he got pissed and gave them an earthquake. Jesus was there, too.
At the time the Mayans where making the year 2012 they where destroyed by combinations of mother nature and warfare.
Not relevant, but they were never pushed into war until after the collapse of their own society against the bloodthirsty Aztecs. Infact, the Mayans had their calender built for quite a while until their collapse, its why there are enough copies for some to think of it being legit -- If there was only one left [because, for an example of them making it right before their demise] it would not be so credible. So, sine the world isn't ending yet. Help. Out. Haiti. Don't send your crap, nobody wants to sort it out! Send Money! And hope it doesn't go to a man with a gun that's going to stand around making sure riots over the food don't happen -- ITS NOT FEEDING ANYONE.
Also, my dad was watching CNN. I saw a point at where there were UN workers trying to give out water bags and it got a bit messy... so they just drove off really fast and all the water bags busted and soaked into the ground. Even the rescue teams are morons.

Just ignore the fact that the "Occupying" marines are stationed in the Ocean when not assisting the broken nation to make sure that the aid makes it straight to the Hatians. I think that somehow, just somehow we are smart enough to bring our own food with us. Please try to not make your ignorance so blatantly obvious.

The best thing that we could do is donate about 10 dollars. It is good enough because taxes are already used to donate. We are doing the best we can and I think that they'll be fine. Send three guys with guns and a jeep with a turret to protect each settlement and you got yourself a fortress (for a place like that at this time). Also, they've got an army don't they?
i dont think we should help at all im so sick of every one saying omg we have to help those poor poor people there shack fell down well...put the 3 cardboard walls back up there go BOOM problem solved... and WOW 100million donated there? lol i think thats more than the country is worth we've helped them before and was only enabling them i say let them be big boys and fix it them selves instead of rely on us for every thing so we shouldnt do a thing tired of the media guilt tripping every one to donate money and give them the sense that there helping too make them selves feel better about themselves
Why not in all our respective countries do we not take care or our own homeless, displaced, hungry, diseased and needy before exporting funds, resources, labour and military to other countries?
Go buy em a hershey bar Idc, I don't even know if we should be helping them anymore. They've got everyone out of the ground, just leave them to start again.
