what should we do about the Haiti earthquake if we rebuild the slums and unstable houses then they will be leveled again. we can't send money because of corruption and foundations can only provide limited help. Do we have to completley rebuild the country?

Revolution.

If I can say why to your obviously-short post, then it is spam (flags).

But seriously...

Let's hope you were kidding with that post of yours. You don't realize just how far that was beyond the line of the ToC.

So, to all those anti-Haitians that don't support helping them the way the USA is doing now: You do realize that Haitians are people too right? If we got hit with an earthquake, we would be worse off than they are. They have suffered much as it is where we haven't, and so if we were suddenly struck with an earthquake, we would be more shaken up from one than they are. Then, there will be people LIKE YOU to be laughing at us. So, think about what you post on the forums so you don't sound like a jerk.

What? I don't get what you mean by that. The government up here is being ridiculous. Which what has been happening since they took office.

Well Alchemist, they are the Conservative party of Canada, which is, by definition, wanting to keep everything stable and the same. They are politically stubborn about what needs changed and vow to keep everything traditional about the government. I guess not helping a poor country with needy people is part of their "traditions".

Right, thats why the Canadian government sent HMCS Halifax and HMCS Athabaskan along with their crews to help out there, as well as agree to match the donations of Canadian citizens dollar for dollar with no cap(so far a total of over $110 million) and some other things that are not on my mind right now.

the sad thing is that after a few months Haiti will once again disappear off the map when the media finds that they could be making more money reporting other stories...

People will then forgot the poverty and destruction when the media pulls out. Its a shame that we only care about poverty when we have an obligation to help out only in natural disasters.

Ha, pretty much. They're just a bunch of liars is all. They're pretty good a messing stuff up, like Mike Harris did. Anyone from Ontario would know that.

I realize this is off topic, I'll end it with this :P

My problem with them isn't this. I forgot about that actually, I really liked that. But some people that were trying to adopt children from before, even though the papers have already gone through, etc, are getting into all this red tape sh*t. It's been cleared with Haiti, and other countries have been successfully getting orphans out of there.

Here is a math question. How many people will 10 grains of rice feed? Spend half an hour at a job and send them that money and it will buy more food than half a day on that website that profits using adds and getting suckers to play some lame game in return for a few mouthfuls of food sent overseas.

I'd say about 1/40th of a person, depending on how big the person is.

we should go and help no differnt then any other disastor

Don't talk to us about it. If you want to go, go! But don't let trying to convince us slow you down.

You should leave Haiti to sort themselves out if you keep wiping their arses for them they will never learn to look after themselves and will end up living in mud huts forever.
Also, God punished them for a reason. Helping them is disobeying Gods will and a sin. If you do and go to hell, give me a call. We could have a party there.
Actually dont. I have a phobia of people.

I'm all for religious here.
Sorry for the insult.
But, are you Fucking stupid?!
You sound rather Christian -- Please learn something and realize that Haiti is like 96%(Ithink) Christian and one of the most peaceful nations out there -- they also PAID money to be free after launching a revolt for freedom, something (I'm sure) Christianity strongly supports.

So fail.

It's not the people's fault that they are poor. Haiti had to buy itself free from France (i think). After that, there were many dictators etc. Now they have many debts, so Haiti can't change anything...

WTF??!! What's wrong with you?? So if somebody killed you nobody could punish him because God wanted you to die?? BTW earthquakes aren't something mystical, we know how and why they occur...

Anyway, I heard that many countries abated Haiti's debt (or a part of it). That's a good thing to do.

Yeah, we should pull American troops out and let them rebuild on their own with their own resources.

Oh, wait...

Or we can continue helping them rebuild and allow them to get back on their feet.
