Freakenstein, there are lots of grey spots in your picture. and the link dosn't work.
The gray areas are the currently unused portions of the brain, while the colored areas are ones performing a task together. Multiply it by 2, since there are 2 side to that pic, and you have the total working force of the brain performing one task. That HAS to be more than the majority right there, and that's just from reading!
Your right, I have no clue. Because I don't pay attention to stupid **** comments used to make fun of peoples opinions. You can blow it out your *** for all I care.
You do realize that Kirby is a newly-appointed troll right? Trolling him back only makes it worse XD
I'll blow you all out of the thread if you don't grow up! Just to let you know I will single out troublesome users now that I'm watching.
*glare of doom*
Now let's replace some misinformation with facts.
* The grey areas on the schematic shown above is the surface of the brain. It's all grey matter i.e. neurons. The fat is in fact in the myelin sheaths that surround the axons that project from those neurons (i.e. the white matter, which is what you don't see on that image.
* To put things simply, if more than 10% of your brain is firing at any one time, chances are you are experiencing one of two things:
1) An epileptic fit. 2) A near-death experience.
* I don't know myself what that figure is based on anyway, but the majority of your brain (a changing proportion I will add) is composed of the cells that assist the neurons i.e. glia.
* The basic principle of neurology is "if you don't use it you lose it". Your brain's composition is changing (and shrinking) all the time so that figure is pretty plastic anyway.
I'll blow you all out of the thread if you don't grow up!
Is that a threat? If it is, you have serious work to do on your intimidation tactics. They're not working right now.

Do I look like I care? Honestly, I can do whatever the heck I want. It doesn't matter if he trolls me back, we'll just have a troll off and he'll lose.
Yes and I think I'd prefer it if it stayed that way.
I laugh a lot and so do a bunch of people...
I used to laugh easily too. But then when everyone else stopped laughing and I continued I got weird looks, so I just decided to laugh with everyone else rather than separately.

I'm a human anatomy class myself, a college-course I might add, Strop. Now, I know NOW that the brain does not use more than 10% at once, but the brain does use a heck of a lot more of itself in order to access information. An example if you are doing a math problem. A very good chunk of the brain is used for many purposes, all for solving that math problem; the switch between receiving and sending that information is merely how great the brain does at the job of solving math problems.
I probably grabbed the wrong figure anyway. All I knew from that was that the brain was working. XD
Freakenstein, you of all people should know there is no winning or losing on the internet. Because no matter what, just liked the special olympics, your still retarded.
It was more or less a joke. Besides, trolling is fun, but you boxes aren't sophisticated enough to think outside your own walls.
valk I see what you were getting to but... There should be no winners between trolls and other peoples because there is no contest. *Points towards the link posted before for more info*

Dude the evidence you are supporting is a myth. We use more than 10% of our brains, end of story. I'm not sure why you haven't figured that out, but that is the reality.

We use 100% of our brain.. 10% goes to idle thoughts xD
Well if you want to debate the brain and intelligence thing then I don't believe that the intelligence we have is just solely from the brain. I think that biologically we do not think about how certain aspects of society can effect a species evolution. For example we say random mutations cause the superior beings to survive and reproduce. What if the aspect could be applied to groups of species for example if a group inherited an individual that has a slightly different pattern of behavior that cause the entire group to prosper then that group continues to survive while others can die out or the individual can be cast out from the group. Also most of the Intelligence we have today is from the aspect of communication without the ability for individuals to share complex knowledge to each other we would still be sitting in the dark. Also think about the whole system we have developed. Civilization hat is it actually goes against the evolutionary pattern of the survival of the fittest for individuals, as for groups...we still divide ourselves for what ever reason, war, plague, famine, and all sorta of disasters that are part of our history are well part of the natural selection we just blame some of it on ourselves.
Hectichermit, you're mixing intelligence with knowledge. Knowledge really is just information passed down from those that discover it to those that are taught the experience. Intelligence involves your own personal thinking, such as perception, logic, how you interpret things, your own rate of learning, and your learning capacity. There are more, but these are the main points.
I don't think we use too much of our brains at one time. I don't think I do anyways. Things just come to me quick like. Really hard math problems don't make my brain fire up. It doesn't seem that way anyways.
I can't really have an opinion on this. I'm not a neurologist, and neurology and the brain have never been a big thing with me.
What I do know is I don't care how it works, or how much we use. It works awesome, and that's what matters to me. It's one of those few things I don't understand why we even pursue. We know it works, we know it works very well. Other than to create psycho death robots with human brains, I can't think of any reason why we would try and know everything about the brain. It seems more detrimental to know these types of things than helpful.
