Do you think they should add a sports heading to go along besides Popular media and Tavern? Many have told me this would not happen cause not many like sports on here, but there is a vast number who do and wish something in the tavern or other one would bring up stuff like that. I see that it can't be considered pop media because thats music and events basically. Don't see how sports fit there.
Also many I have seen keep trying to bring sports topics or threads into the tavern but they never last because of other people ignoring them so they float to the back 12+ on pages.
If you have a suggestion about this or something to say actually about this I would like to hear your imput on this.
Of course. There are many sports subjects that should have threads, but they just get rejected when they get put in the Tavern or Popular Media. For example, when the Stanley Cup and NBA Finals come around, we should have threads so we can discuss it. Also, a thread about Opening Day in baseball, or Spring football in the NCAA. Maybe even a thread about how much of a jerk Lane Kiffin is.
Instead of having threads for each teams fans like plokkey suggested, rather, there should threads about events, updates, special occasions, signings, and rumors. Otherwise, the section would get too crowded. If there are fan clubs for every team, it will be like the Sonny section.
I should have seen it coming that the two brothers would be starting/entering this thread! =) Already saw you guys are big (maybe even HUGE) sports fans!
Well... I commented on this in the other thread Google posted with the suggestion, but is it something worth exploring... frankly I don't know. :/
I'm a big fan of Formula 1 (not very popular in the States) and I don't know if I would be posting in this forum a lot... maybe I will, don't know... *shrugs*
Really I really don't think a mod sees a purpose of it, cause they always seem to point out something or why it wouldn't suceed. So If your a mod and looking at this, take into consideration, how much people would use it. Or you could just ignore it.
Just a heads up Google, mods don't decide or consider having extra forums in the community, the admins do. But if the admins did look at this thread, they will have to wonder: is there a particular reason as to why we need such a forum? Are their frequent threads all about different sports types? How many people would actually frequent that forum? Would there be a great deal of activity in that forum alone? I myself wouldn't want to see a forum with the latest post several weeks ago.
The problem with sports, I think, is that they're much county-related; I couldn't care less about baseball or hockey (neither seen like "real sports" - no offence intended -) but I'd like something about soccer. I know that it could be a lot fo work for nothing and so we'll probably never see it.
Just think about how many Brits would clog it up with "footy" threads. "I say, Nigel, did you see the match between Manchester and Teacrumpetcricketbigbenlimeyshire?" "Oh yes, Roddie, it was a marvelous match."
Do we really want that clogging the minds of the children?
