You might find it silly me saying this, but really!, the amount of people I have come across on this site alone that hold the view of... "I dont care what others do to their own body/life/world"
...is, quite frankly, astounding.
Here is some undeniable facts, and please dont bother with naysaying this, because it might be idealistic, but the world wasnt formed on the backs of the stagnant thinker.
1.There is enough food to feed the world many times over 2.We can give everyone some shelter 3.everyone can have a sanitary enviroment 4.everyone can have communication 5.Everyone can have transport
And this could all be free.
But if people keep on only caring for themselves this will never happen, and without people like me to encourage free thought and spread some love (everyone needs love, just think john lennon) the world is going to go down the dark path that people are so afraid of and yet, are too scared to stand up against.
Now you dont have to do anything proactive. Im not asking for freedom fighters, or martyrs, or fundamentalist thinking.
Talk... please just talk. Debate, argue, think, change, learn and grow.This is all achived by talking and communicating.
I have learned a great many things since posting on this site just through talking. And tho I may seem a bit stubborn I really DO listen and take on board all views I read.
So the main aim of this thread is to pass a message to those who would hear it and a warning to the tools who would not.
Start caring about your world, or else you will find yourself in an uncaring world of your own design.
And finally, if you wont listen to me perhaps you will listen to bill hicks.

The food whould be less a problem,scientist can make food larger and more effective, but the shelter and jobs whould require a world of communist. Millions have gone into Haiti, and thats a semi-small part. To get everyone EFFECTIVE shelter, food, healcare ect you whould have to give TRILLIONS, whitch no one will give willingly.

There already is more food then to feed the world. The scientists have done their job. A lot of food is actually produced in Africa. Funny how they're the ones starving right?
The problem obviously is systematic.

Millions is nothing. The French alone took away 24 billion from them. What they need to do is be able to establish a system to be able to produce themselves.
To get everyone EFFECTIVE shelter, food, healcare ect you whould have to give TRILLIONS, whitch no one will give willingly.
All you need to do is give everyone a chance to work for a livable wage.

Actually you cannot. You only think you can because as I said you will not use valid statistics. 20% of the world is starving right now for a reason. Aquifers that have been used for decades have been sucked dry. Look at the vast drought of California, what was the most fertile basin in the entire world. Overuse of land is causing vast erosion and soil nutrient depletion at an alarming rate. More people will begin to starve as the world's population increases. Some demographists are EXTREMELY generous when they say we would be able to feed 8 billion people when there actually are that many.
Most Americans see Socialism as almost as bad as Communism.
A large percent of food that might otherwise be tossed in our country due to simple mistakes or errors gets donated to organizations like the Salvation Army. Of course my old campus was as wasteful as a cow shitting on hay.
As for those of you ignorant about the Amish, the community of them near my city has more electric fences than the "Englishmen" farmers. All of their electricity for said fences comes from gas generators. And just because water comes from a windmill making power doesn't mean they don't have it. My family uses a wood furnace to heat our home, but that doesn't mean we don't have heating. We feel sorry for all of you poor cityfolk spending a mint on your electricity bills. My statement about the Amish earlier was just meant to show that not everyone has to conform to your vision of sanitary life. In such a world there would be no penicillin. Not everything has to be sterile for it to be clean and sterilization kill all of the good bacteria that keep the bad from killing you. Not a good thing. That is why antibacterial soaps/gels/wipes are horrible for you.

Hell, they'd make a whole effin island chain! Instead of doing something worthwhile like build hospitals or schools, they will make 5 star hotels which no ordinary person can ever afford. Basically, they make their city into a giant, decadent, carbon-belching tourist resort...

That's true. Just curious, do the Americans in their schools teach about Socialism in Economic classes?
We know what Socialism is, but not many public schools have ecomonic classes unless they have very very good funding.
Oh thats not too good... In Pakistan, we have economics in good private schools starting at O'levels. We can learn about Socialism in these classes, and there are also many debates held about "Socialism/Communism vs Capitalism".
