there is no compairison between guitar and violin. guitar is the best instrument there is. have u ever heard of a rockn violinist? i havnt. but guitar on the other hand is amazing. im really only saying this to make my self feel good about playing the guitar tho. lol

@weave, well, it depends on type of music you like, but i do agree i prefer rock type music so i would have to go with guitar.

Guitar, due to range of playability. The violin is limited.

Well if you are saying an electric guitar then I prefer the violin.

I like guitar more (I like Punk/Rock/Indie, so that's why) but I think it could be very nice if someone played a violin in a rock band! Like The White Stripes that sometimes plays piano in some of their songs.

But if you mean acoustic guitars then Id have to say guitar.

I have to go with the guitar, it depends if you like to hear something rocking or something that is pleasing to the ears. But, I like to hear myself playing the guitar, even though I also play both. But, some guitar can play both that is something rocking and pleasing to the ears! I never heard a violin rock out, that will be...well, something! :P

I like both very much. And I've heard plenty of metal songs that have violin playing as well as guitar and I think it's good.

what do you mean by your question? Which one do I like to play more or which one do I like to listen to more? Personally, I like to listen to the violin but I play the guitar (electric).
