Hello there, everybody! Haven't seen a thread like this around and I was just curious. So tell us what your favourite album(s) of all time is/are, you can post however many entries you want! And remember to say why exactly you like the album(s) so much!
I'll kick this thread off with my Top 5!
5) Houses of the Holy (Led Zeppelin) - Now THIS is a Hard Rock album! It's awesome pallet of musical styles is fresh and fun! Not to mention the whole band is in top form throughout!
4) Let it Bleed (Rolling Stones) - Such a cool one! Playing in a diverse range of styles, from Country, to Blues, to driving Hard Rock, the Stones never sounded better!
3) On the Beach (Neil Young) - This album is all about contrasts! Range of styles, emotion, tempo, and subject matter. Going from the metaphorical, introspective pieces, to the direct, sing-along tunes! Though it isn't as universally revered as Tonight's the Night, I still like this one a helluva lot more!
2) Wish You Were Here (Pink Floyd) - The best of Pink Floyd's "Classic Era", also hands down their best. This album finds the Floyd's instrumental abilities at their best, not to mention some of Roger Water's best lyrics, which were always top-notch to begin with!
1) The Who Sell Out (The Who) - Good god, words can hardly describe this masterwork of Rock N' Roll! Oh, wait, I can think of a few: Fun, Hard Rockin', Insightful, Satirical, Beautiful, and Fantastic!
Breaking benjamin Phobia i love his lyrics and how many meanings his songs can have and the red jumpsuit appratus dont you fake it XDD there HUGE here because they grew up here down the road from me to be accurate >_>..
I know im gunna get shouted at here becuase it a pop album and it was only released in 07 but i have to say kelly clarkson my december. Its catchy, dark and edgy i love it.
I could put just about any of the Pink Floyd albums here as I love the vocals and some of the words, but really it's about David Gilmour's guitar. Of theirs I'd have to pick the Division Bell though. I could just melt when I hear any song from that album.
Man, even though Pink Floyd are my favourite band of all time, I could never really get into their post-Waters stuff (sure, he was a control-freak, but PF played some of their best music in that era), save for a few songs, like "Learning to Fly", "Sorrow", "Cluster One", and "Coming Back to Life".

Hey, nobody's shouting at ya, it's your own opinion, afterall. Why shouldn't you be allowed to express it in peace?

High Hopes has gotta be one of the best Pink Floyd songs evar D:
For me, the choice is a toss-up between . . . .
Wish you were Here by Pink Floyd. The musical and lyrical mastery on this album shows a perfect balance between the unique styles of Wright, Gilmour, and Waters. It's like Dark Side of the Moon, but more complex and less meandering.
Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes. These guys are the best folk musicians since, well, ever - I know it's a bit blasphemous to say that they're better than the legendary likes of Woody Guthrie and CSNY, but they just so are. Every single piece of music is a carefully arranged sonic painting. It's all so profoundly beautiful.
Aaaaaaaaaand . . . .
Building Nothing out of Something by Modest Mouse. All of these songs are the best alternative/indie music has to offer. Lyrics, music, all of it is just such a deep experience. Awesome.
Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand- one of the first albums I bought and it is brilliant. I have listened to it a thousand times and I'm still not bored by it neither can I find a bad song it each track is as quality as the last.
A Quick One by The Who- I've seen this album criticised by some so I'll defend it (since it has some great tracks on). The Who were forced to each write a few songs for it which is why it can seem a bit hodge podge (especially Keiths ones ). But it's got the first(-ish) rock Opera on and some under-rated songs on.
(What's the Story) Morning Glory? by Oasis - Recently voted the best album of the last 30 years and deservedly so. It could almost be a 'best of' almost every track on it being flippin' amazing. It's so easy just to listen to this (especially in contrast to later albums).
The Stone Roses, by er, the Stone Roses. So different to all the other crap around in the early 90s in the UK. The US had Nirvana. We had the Stone Roses.
Blood Sugar Sex Magic by the Chili Peppers is such an epic, and underated album.
Mothership by Led Zeppelin is one of my favorites. THis has Dazed and confused, Black Dog (My fave Zeppelin song , Kashmir, and Stairway to HEaven (BEAST guitar). AC/DC is my favorite band, but I can't pick just one of their albums though. unless it can be the greatest hits album.
Easily #1 for me is The Division Bell by Pink Floyd. Absolutely awesome from start to finish. Great lyrics, better guitar. Nice finishing touch to a great band.
Let's see.. Scarecrow by Garth Brooks. Yup, went country on ya, lol. I like almost all his stuff (Sevens was a subpar effort I think), but this one has more great songs on it than his others do.
Hmm.. Best Of The Blues by Gary Moore. One of the best blues albums I've ever heard. I put it here because it's got the best version of Thrill Is Gone that I'll ever hear. This guy can play the guitar. Makes up for the fact that he got his face beaten in with an ugly stick.. lol
Umm.. Once by Nightwish. Absolutely fantastic opera metal. Love a lady who can sing. And it's a cool blend with the heavy music behind the opera vocals. Plus the lyrics are pretty cool too.
