Although I don't understand most of their lyrics, it would have to be Rush, mainly due to Neil Peart's epic drumming. In second place would be Muse because of Matt Bellamy's awesome voice and guitar skills. Third would be Weezer because I like Rivers Cuomo and geek-rock.
It's a 3-way tie between Iron Maiden, White Wizzard and Megadeth, although I definitely commend Rush, they would have to be my second favorite. 2112, Moving Pictures and Fly By Night are my personal favorite Rush albums.
For me there's only 2 bands that surface above all the rest of the bands out there...
VAN HALEN: Their manifest of awesome music throughout the years prooves enough, plus the fact that they manage to survive a total of three (!) lead singers (one of them is given a pat on the shoulder for at least trying to be one of them) and still make the rest of the bands look grey-ish!
RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE: a band that stuck to its political agenda throughout their whole career, without giving in to the commerce swarming around them, and they still manage to make people turn their head when they hear them, even now in the present day! Hat's off to these great political patriots!
Freakin' great band man! They used to be my all-time favourite too! Hell, I still love 'em. I personally think they're at their best with DLR, how about you?
Rise Against is my favorite band, because the lyrics of their songs are fantastic, and the way the lead singer can go from soft melody to screamo and back again is incredible.
I love them because their songs range from almost country (hero of war) to almost screamo (state of the union) and have many songs that are hard rock in between. My fave band of all time.
