Pink Floyd is my fave - every single one of their songs is either delicately relaxing or an intricate, psychedelic rocker. Their range of style and eclecticness is impressive, and they're a rare occasion where a bunch of musical geniuses and Nick Mason can band together and have their styles gel into a perfect harmony of different facets of musical genius.
My second is definitely Modest Mouse. From their sad, dreamy, smart and profound earlier works to their artfully crafted later ones, Isaac Brock shows himself to be a genius of instrumental arrangements and lyrics, Jeremiah Green shows himself to be technically and musically one of the best drummers since the 60s, and Eric Judy achieves the rare accolade of having a distinguishable playstyle on the bass guitar. They're very distinctive, and a good deal of their songs(Teeth like God's Shoeshine, Dramamine)are pure genius-gone-indie rock.
Manowar definitely kicks massive ass. Although I do get tired of them a lot, practically every song they've ever written is just screaming "EPIC!!!" at you.
I change my mind almost every day, but for today my favorite band is REM, I love the lyrics and the singer's mumbling style. I'll take the rain is an amazing song.
Ohh, I have so many favorites. A few of my favorites have been mentioned already, but I'll just list some more, ok? Beatles Pearl Jam Nirvana Foo Fighters Jimi Hendrix Experience Barenaked Ladies Red Hot Chili Peppers Van Halen Bon Jovi Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band U2 Offspring Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Foreigner The Cars Rolling Stones The Doors Pink Floyd The Who Creedence Clearwater Revival Eagles Lynnard Skynard Metallica Black Sabbath Ramones Genesis The Clash The Police Aerosmith KISS Cream Queen AC/DC Led Zeppelin REM
These bands aren't in any order, mind you. Please do not assume that. I don't want to stir up any arguments here. Peace.
