I have been in class when suddenly i was interrupted by a mentally retarded kid. Literal retarded. I want to know if you think having mentally challenged kids inn school is more help than harm? It is known that mentally challenged kids do not learn nor get anything out of going to schools, but are put in bec. their parents demanded it.
I think the problem is that you're trying to paint with a brush that is too broad and ill-defined. If it really bothers you so much, take it up with the specific case instead of railing about it on the Internet.
Tom, there are disruptive students in school that AREN'T mentally retarded. On a day to day basis. They are rednecks. Should they all be removed? No. I don't care if they stick chewing tobacco in books, school is an opportunity to learn and communicate with Society.
rednecks are all over my school to, but how often do they hit the teachers and not get removed, these distractions aren't a little annoying, they are full blown annoying and bec. they have a handy cap they are ignored, which is extremely hared to do, i was wondering if anyone else had this problem, i find it a pity that fear of removing a handicapped takes over my own education and others.

That dude sounds like a d**k, with or without a mental disorder. My buddy works in a pub as a sound engineer, and there is a mentally handicapped guy who pops in, he feel up the wimmin and acts all innocent, its pretty disgusting. We should be able to tell these people to stop that crap. Being mentally handicapped does not give the right to take advantage of the fact that other people might be too scared to stand up to em. So of course these people need to be in school, they need to learn, to socialise, and we need to feel comfortable around them, they are a part of society.
And tbh, looking around the world I have trouble working out just exactly who the retards really are.

You are foolish if you think that, my mom teaches mentally challenged kids and they get A LOT out of shcool, and I don't know why one would be in your class unless you go to a retarted class.

Ideally, we would place ALL people who are disruptive in a seperate class. As long as they recieve equal education it's no problem, right? Afterall, history has taught us that "seperate but equal" will always work out for the best for everyone.

Mentally challenged covers a wide variety of people... but let's just pretend I assume that by you saying "mentally challenged" that you mean people unable to use basic motor skills or even take care of themselves. You still are wrong, for as long as something has a brain, it can benefit. You'd be surprised at how much a little brain exercise can benefit the health of the human brain.

i was misguided, i meant that the learning is extremely limited, causing the pay off to not be enough to surpass the annoyance, please disregard my Quote, i was just mad from an annoying day at school with this kid, that is semi-retarded. If he is such a disruption why doesn't he get in trouble? he has said things to me and my classmates and the teachers try to ignore it, he called an obese kid fat many times, threatens to kill me and classmates, also has sworn many times to, he has learning disabilities but knows what he is saying, and still no action taken, bec. people don't want to be mean. He has the right to be in my class, right, privilege, meaning it can be taken away, but in his case he will not be in fear of "being mean", so is trying to be nice more important than my and fellow classmates education?
i don't want to offend anyone but the re'tards in my school are REALLY ANNOYING. they are always in the hall making loud hi-pitched noises. and when they get in their wheel chairs to go to lunch No one can get around them. and if we are in front of them their adult "helpers" yell at us and say we are in the way. it is no good for them to be in school. or let me rephrase that, they should not be in a public school with the above 70 kids
Severe Mentally challenged/disabled should not be in school. The harm more than anything else. I mean, they get treated like gods in my school. They have their own little room, with leather couches and a huge flatscreen (for real). Like WTF? It's not like they can even understand what the hell is going on in the tv program. they don't learn a thing either.
In response to NoName's post about immersion in society, that is the completely opposite case here. There's this one disabled kid whom has seizures, and if anything, he has become MEANER over the past few years. Every time people try to help him out, he gets really pissed and yells vulgar things.
You think you're "mental" kids are bad, One of the mental kids in my class will beat you up if you say his name,no joke, this happens almost every day, and no one want to fight him back because he's retarded.
I think many are aggressive to avoid teasing and bullying. They become bullies themselves. Sometimes offense is used as a defense. Anyway, this does not justify it.
