I could really have made a thread about "Lost" because I'm going to miss perhaps the greatest TV series, premium channels don't count, ever. Because this is Lost's last season I started watching V thinking I was going to hate it and now I'm hooked.
It's like the age old battle of "homies vs the invaders". This show reminds me of "War of the Worlds"/Tom Cruise,6/29/05. And, like Lost, is filmed more like a movie than a weekly series.

I had to reactivate this thread long enough to ask, who's going to watch the finale of Lost? How do you think it's going to end? Aknerd's already said he thought the last episode was boring because he thought the show was just being explained. I've a couple of questions, does anyone think Sayid really killed Desmond? We've already seen that if the "island" wants you alive, you live. Next question, what's Charles Whidmore going to do with our guys/gals? It's going to be a 'blast' to see the look on his face when he finds out the ones whose names were on the wall can't die. In the meantime, what's Ben and that group up to? You know they can't let Smoking Locke get to the plane?
I'm sorry V fans but this thread will be close to death if no one comments. If you're watching at all you know the good part's just starting! Where do you think the show's going? Will the 5th column recruit their army in time to stop Anna's 1000?
It wouldn't surprise me if both V and FlashForward get canned. Both shows are in "wrap it up" mode. Ever since Aknerd made his last comment about Lost I've been paying closer attention to the others, except for 24. 24 of course is in it's final year too, like Lost. Well, I'll go ahead and make my predictions for FlashForward, Lost and V: FlashForward's last episode was about as sad as last weeks Lost episode. Janis and Mark came clean with each other. Mark, thinking she was just another mole and Janis acting like an obvious mole wanting to get caught. I did find myself waiting for a gun shot when Mark turned his back on her and started to walk away. I'm glad it didn't happen but Janis did the right thing by Mark and Demitri by being honest. I predict that Demitri will finally run off with his finace. I also think that Vogel will be the one to shoot both Mark and Janis, cover it up by them getting hit by 'friendly fire'. I predict the doctors will hook up and the doctor with cancer will find his love.
Lost was as sad as a funeral and it was hard watching Jin and Sun say' "I love you", for the last time since it only took 3 and a half years, TV time to find each other! Lock's parting words, from Claire, "Now, I'll finish what I started", made a cold chill run through me. Now that's acting! Unlike Aknerd, I do like the way the Lost writers have been tying up the loose ends especially with Smoking Locke's story. I'm wondering why he couldn't leave the Island sooner though but I guess Locke's body was the only one returned to the island after the 'anomaly' occurred and Ben turned the wheel. I predict that Jack will find Desmond in time and Smoking Locke will remain on the island and that Jack, Sawyer, Dez, Hurley, Kate, Lapidus and Ben will find a way to trap him. I also think that Kate and Jack will finally get married and have the dozen kids, Hurley said they would. Sawyer will locate 'Blondie' and if anyone has to stay behind, I predict it will be Jack and Kate. Her name was written on the cave ceiling and it was probably Smoking Locke who marked through it. Hurley was 'Scooby-dood' by teen-Jacob and It may be Jacob that resurrects from his own ashes to slay the dragon, his brother once and for all? That way, no one has to 'stay'.
On V, Anna's daughter is having serious Mother issues and who can blame her? To have your face slashed, be beaten so badly that both legs are broken just for a publicity stunt is going to far! I hope she does stick around and stick it to mom by becoming the best double agent on TV, ever. It also appears that Anna's right hand man may have his own doubts about the sanity of Anna so he may mutiny? He would also be a great double agent as the doctor is. We have to beat Anna and her thousands of eggs! The real question is will this show have time before it's canceled?
I called it but I still can't believe what ABC (Another Boring Channel) is replacing V, FlashForward and Lost with. This fall the line up on Tuesday night will be: 8-9 pm No Ordinary Family A story of an average family going to South America for a vacation. Their plane crashes in the Amazon River, yawn. They return to real life but they have super human powers! 9-10pm, Lost's old time slot goes to: Dancing with(out) the stars! ABC loves this show so much it's going to have two time slots, Monday nights at 8-10pm,(how long will they last against Monday Night Football?, and Tuesday at 9-10pm, eastern time.
Tuesday night at 10-11pm is V's old time slot and will be replaced with: Detroit 1-8-7 Oh, look, another reality cop show! This one will be a documentary style, yawner...
Now for FlashForward's old time slot, Thursday at 9-10pm will go to: drum roll...surprise, Grey's Anatomy. You know, that tired old doctor's fooling around with everyBODY show that I couldn't even sit through 10 minutes of it's season finale because I was about to fall asleep!
No Ordinary Family is the only show I will try out of 10 new shows ABC has come up with and that's only because Mike Chiklis stars in it. I not angry, I'm disgusted with the networks selection. ABC hasn't just reached the edge of the viewers patience cliff, it has blindly walked right off of it.
I predict that "no ordinary family" will get... Four episodes (plus or minus one), before it is cancelled. About V...
Did anyone else notice the starwars parallels in this weeks episode? There were three Darth Vaders!
First Darth Vader:
The Black V* (I don't know his name...). His wife (Padme) dies, but a son survives (Luke). Ana (the emporer) leads Black V to think that he was responsible for his wife's death. Then, the black V accepts ana's bliss (the dark side).
Second Darth Vader: The mom FBI person (okay, I'm bad with names). She kills all of Ana's babies, just like Anakin killed all of the younglings in the jedi temple. And then Ana got super pissed, just like yoda.
Third Darth Vader: The Fifth column guy on the ship (okay, really bad with names). He got "killed" by someone who he thought was his friend (mom fbi person), but was then ressurected by the "evil" people. Like when Obi wan tried to kill Anakin.
*something I have always wondered... Why is there a black V? I mean, he isn't actually black, he's just wearing an artificial skin. If you were trying to blend in, why would you choose to be a minority, especially one subject to racial profiling? As far as I have seen, he's the only black V. Which makes even less sense, considering he is also trying to hide from the V. He really stands out.
Also, why are there sometimes no security cameras on the V ship? The Vs have cameras in a bunch of humans, and sometimes on the "waiting gate" part of the V ship. BUT when fbi mom blew up the eggs, they were all like "OMG who dunnit?" We have cameras in gas stations, but not in the entry room to the queen v's dining room?
Besides that, the show is getting better. Ana's daughter is by far the best actress on the show.
I'm also bad with names especially when I know the show is doomed. The FBI mom didn't want to shoot the 5th column Doc, he had to talk her into it, they were friends. He would rather be shot than skinned, like a rabbit. You didn't say anything about the mercenary/5th column guy that FBI/mom recruited. Seems like Anna's right hand man has been doing some left-handed spying of his own? I thought I had seen other minority V's but regardless, this man, black or white, stands out with his wrestler swagger. His walks shouts, "Don't mess with me or I'll kick your *** and keep right on going about my business"! I agree that if he hasn't drunk Anna's koolaid/bliss on this latest episode then he is the best actor with Anna's daughter a close second!
I like your analogies to Star Wars and yes, I picked up on the similarities too. That's one reason why I'm so disgusted with abc for canning V. This show has such good talent and writing that it should have been the go to show for all of us Lost fans.
