I posted this on John's page but in case it didn't get through here it is:
Why are games only 20 AP? They should be worth more; I have designed games and they take time and effort to make. Playing a game, rating it, and then posting a meaningful comment 5 times is far easier then making a game. I think that once posting a game you should get 30 AP. Then, a month after posting the game the 30 Armor Points should be replaced by the game's rating x 4. That should be the real amount of AP you get because otherwise you could post a ton of bad games and still get points. This way if you make a good game you get rewarded appropriately.
Oh, just found out, the top game developer seems to actually be the Armorgames account. It has more than twice as much as John, though he is an AG developer...
The latter would be a nice way to see how a creator's success rate is, simply based on the games he/she made and how the AG users like/dislike them! Sound solid enough to me! =)
That would be fun, but probably discourage some developers because people give them low ratings, and most likely (Like game ratings) it will be abused.
The typical rep system of a forum is the one where you can specifically "thumbs up" and "thumbs down" a user. I'd really like one here, but the people who maintain this website itself, are likely to be busy.
I think that was actually suggested in another thread somewhere, but it got shot down... don't remember where thought... :S
If you want to, do it. Although I'd personally rather get payed in cash rather than AP...
Mods get payed? Nah, you're pulling my chain there... are you? o_O
That is a true fact. I wish could scream it: Developers make games for money, not AP.
Well... you just did! I noticed it because of the highlight even before I saw you were the one that wrote that post! =) Well, the 'big' developers might do that, but the smaller ones don't if you ask me. The latter are the guys/girls that enjoy making games as a hobby and post them on websites for fun, or am I doing my 'talk rubbish for a change'-thingy again... :S

How would that discourage them to make games? They would only benefit from it by knowing what games are well constructed or popular with gamers and what games are not... But most of all how would that be abused? Don't see how it can be abused in any way... :/

Mods don't get payed. Cash or AP.
Well... you just did!
Oh, I slapped myself in the face there...
ow would that discourage them to make games? They would only benefit from it by knowing what games are well constructed or popular with gamers and what games are not...
But mean people would rate all games low for the fun of it, and the feedback would be biased, though the developer doesn't know it. If I made games, and all I got was negative feedback, I would leave the site.

Yes, I know... I know... that was very corny to say, but I laughed while writing it! XD And that gave me good satisfaction! Not to mention a belly ache... *rumble* LOL

Have a little faith in mankind... there actually ARE some good people left on this hump of mud! You only need to be lucky to encounter them I guess...
I can understand that people (developers) might want to leave the site because of (nothing else than) bad feedback, but then again... how many developers are actually active here? I mean, I've talked to 'BlueOmega' about his game just around the time I joined AG, but never heard of him again ever since then! So saying a lot of developers are inactive is something true and a fact... and that's not so good!
If you want to, do it. Although I'd personally rather get payed in cash rather than AP...
Indeed. But that would kinda mean it would be a job, and with the amount of fairly inactive mods we have... No, I wasn't going anywhere with that...
Why is this still being discussed, I wonder? The ap system is not very likely to be changed, most of the developers doesn't care because they get their money, and the people who do go check for feedback still doesn't care about the ap part of it.
I tihnk that if you make a game and for every 100 plays you shuld get like 1 AP because then you get more people to play it and more might see it and play and relize that it is fun and you might become more famous by that!

Haven't you read the post of Cenere (above yours) just now? :S It is something developers do not care about as long as they get payed for their games and they will get famous eventually by making awesome games, not by implementing AP's gain through playing their games... besides, you already get AP's for rating the game, a 'massive' 2 AP's even!

I think the only reason this is still being discussed is the users who are thinking of making and uploading a game to AG and are a bit dissapointed on the (in their eyes) low AP count given for that...
No, I wasn't going anywhere with that...
LOL You can say that inbetween lines Cenere, but somehow I get the feeling that you guys are actually looking for more mods to add to the AG HQ... I get a sense of 'grumbling about it' there from your part...
