There are a plethora of forums but even in the Tavern there is no place to simply relax. And please don't even try to say that the newcomers forum is applicable...
The Lounge forum is essentially and totally the Tavern forum. Random things go there, talking about nonsense without (a lot of) debating goes there, and screwing around goes there, but mind the puns. What you were thinking about was already here.

i dont have AIM. or any IM'ing place. i agree with the lounge idea, where we can just talk about what we want and chill with our friends, ill check the tavern to see if it is like that, im not too costum to the tavern

That would be very good indeed but I think there are others issues this site has which need to be focused on. Bug, glitches, other suggestions etc.
If you really want an easy way to talk to your friends, albeit without the AP use a chatroom/IM application. If you really want to get AP, use the Messenger. It may be inconvenient at times but hey, you get AP.
What would be the point? Ifyou got AP which some would say yeah, cause then free pts for jacking off. Don't take that weird. Anyways I guess but why would it be in the forums?
Because anything else, and it would be considered an IM'ing chat site for AG with "discussion of random topics involved", and that revolves around the same reasons why we can't have them. What the OP explained about this new forum basically covers what the Tavern's purpose is >_>
At least with other IM'ing sites, AG isn't liable or responsible for whatever conversations you're having with whomever. If the guy flames/trolls you, it ain't AG's business, as long as it's outside of the website.
How can you if you joined this year? And that was taken down in the beginning of 2008? I'm an old user, and even that was before my time.
I played on armor games for about 3-4 years before I made an account. Why does everyone jump to conclusions? WHy can't people just read they're bios? I think this is what balierion is right there should be a lounge (no AP's gained) where you can just say "Hi" or "I just had some nice lemon tea." And even a locked forum where only your friends can come or even see it on the forums.
Here's a suggestion. If you want a chat so badly, why not make one? Invite anyone who would like to join. I'll give you 2 weeks. If you haven't yet experienced the reasons why the original chat was axed, then your chat room is a success. I'll even drop by from time to time to chill
I used to go on the actual site meebo.com to have a creepy spongebob armatar and the ability to change names. I just searched for it in all the chats like years ago.
