For those that don't know, banners are these pictures or backgrounds that, when pressed, holds a link to send the clicker to the website given. Does ArmorGames have these banners to give out? If not, will it support any being made? This is a great way (for those that linger on other websites) to have people click on the banner to send them to one of the greatest flash gaming websites ever conceived! It can start some serious chain reactions not able to be foretold...

1) If there is one, show me

2) If there isn't, this is a great idea (to me) to make.

Even if they already have these banners, what is stopping you from making one? It's not like you'll get banned for showing dedication and helping out the site.

The point of banners is, you need to insert the link of the homepage into the image. While I do know how to do so, it would be best for the administration to officially have banners added into their system for their members to freely use whenever they wished.

Well, that's the easy part.

Except you should put an original banner in rather than one I found on Google.

Well...I was thinking... maybe it's time for a new banner? One that advertises the greatest AG games ever made? Sonny, Fancy Pants, Crush the Castle... All these awesome game pics can be blended into one banner with the ArmorGames logo in the background or something. Then, they can add the quote saying "We made these.", or something else that makes the reader sit there his/her mouth agape in awe.

It can happen, and it can also send in some serious flow of newcomers if made and used correctly.

I'm not sure we want that. Those newcomers will be a majority of stupid people, which will foul up my liking of the forum. I wouldn't leave, but some people will. The old guard is almost completely gone as it is.

I like our current flow of 1 in 10 newcomers actually getting more than 200 posts.

I used the word newcomer loosely. Guys that DO click the banner link don't really have to actually join in; they can just click to introduce them the games that we have here. The game comments are a lost cause and have been for a long time, but gaining points is one of the main reasons why people actually came here.

I say if they are perceptive enough to notice the community link, they are good enough to be in the forums. At least the forums are heavily regulated; if one spams and doesn't know it, the mods or veteran users can enlighten them accordingly.

Also: people don't have to join a site for them to access the site to have the site generate income.

Check it out! I made these a while back, featuring some of the more popular games of the time. I think this is what you are looking for...?

Ah! A hidden link showing all the banners made, very clever!

Yes, these are what I'm talking about; images linking to AG and sort of advertises the site. It would be nice to get these rolling again and have some of the new popular games featured in some of these banners! Used in the right places, banners could bring forth some newcomers in the site

I'm confused about "register -- Freakenstein" though. Was this part of the referral stage that was axed?

Very well done Carlie! Just one question...

Why is my name in the html code?

It was used for referring people. So it should have your name in it to know who gets the referral, if somebody joins using your link.

I guess that the function would similarly be to that of the Kong referrals. You used to get points for referrals, but it got abused and taken down.

I think my idea supports Plokkey.

Yea, that would be a remnant from the days of referrals! They probably just never thought to change the code.

As far as where to go to find all of the banners, just scroll down to the bottom of AG and click on 'Link to Us'.

Perhaps if I have some extra time soon I might think of adding some more. But there are plenty to choose from right now.

Do you get anything for referring someone? I know they do that on some sites... although it could be abused, so I guess not. I'm gonna put some on my site

Want any ideas? :3

You used to. I think it was...10 AP for doing this? But yeah, you're correct about the abusing part. The main reason why we have 80K of the total ghosts on the site is because of this: people didn't really 'refer' others to the site; they just made more!

They really did that for 10 AP. Wow, haha.
