I don't like any of it. It's always either incredibly depressing or just boring as hell. I don't know about you, but I certainly don't care for music that fits into either of those two categories.
Muse are pretty cool i like uprising and super massive black hole. Green Day are okay american idiot is good and whats that other one i think its boulivard of something anyway that ones good.
I consider alternative rock to be rock, so it would make sense if you consider it rock as well.

I consider Green Day to be more of a punk group rather than alternative. I can see the similarities, but I don't know if they would classify as alternative the way the other two do.
Gah..... alt can be such a wide genre..... I think in the American strand of alt rock it is close between R.E.M. and Nirvana for second spot but I just love the Pixies (no connection) the bands in AMerica have a great sound that I don't hear so much from other places. But the best alt rock comes from Britain..... the MAdchester scene gave us The Stone Roses who I love and the BritPop came and (I've gotta say) Blur are my favourites from that era in music.... just edging out Oasis mainly because Damon Albarn is easier to listen too than Liam Gallagher.

Personally I think that ALT Rock is the best kind of R&R out there. There really is no band that is better than one or the other, they are equally good.
Yes but it's a subgenre off alternative so they could be described as an alt abdn or a grunge abnd or both lol..... wither way I think they deserve a mention.
