I just relized people have alot of stress in their daily lives and constantly worry about every little thing, argueing non-stop, hating each other, starving, deprived, animals are alway beaten, slaughtered and so on every second. (you get the picture) what if there was a national or a world-wide date for every body to die (kill themselves and or one another) I think that would be easier for all, you have no worries any more, doen't matter if you were late to work if you have enough time for something or somebody you love. There would be no war, no racism, and no body in pain (in thought and in body) What is your opion ? Why should or shouln't this happen ?
Good lord, you can see through all of their blatant propaganda. These people are horrible... they want to remove humanity from the face of the planet? No. Their "logic" does nothing but try and force people to agree with them. The intelligent can see straight through it all... Good lord, anyone who follows this has a guilt or emo complex that believes we as humans have made the world such a horrible place. In actuality, I'd rather live now than any other time in history.
In that case, I might open up some discussion about it here. I have one point that may be of some concern:
Reducing or even completely stopping human reproduction will mean that there are less/no young people, which puts a strain on the labor market. If extinction is the aim, then one may say this isn't a problem, but in all likelihood, the physical infrastructure that sustains quality of life will break down, so the last few generations of life will face a rather unpleasant end!
Well, seeing as this is all hypothetical considering the fact that not everyone would agree to contributing to the extincion of our race... It really isna't a problem... But if that was the situation... I'm sure nobody would live very long anyway. Poeple probably wouldn't live very far vast 40... maybe 50.
Oh, and sorry I'm a little late, but to answer to Strop, no I don't think it was survivor. I think it's a movie called Condemned because they are put on an island and the last person standing gets some prize money.
u had me during the stress part, as i am quite a stressful person! i get stressed about alot, mainly bceause im kinda low on cash, if you know what i mean. but you sure did lose me during the part which started explaining that there should be a date where everybody should die. Even if there wasn't any stress in the whole entire world. If everyone died, what would become of them? And what would become of the earth? i really don't see any point in your....suggestion....at all. Usually i'm quite exclamatory towards ideas such as this, but i stil give some thought about it, mainly because my father is a chemical engineer, but anyways:back to the issue. Putting ourselves to death wouldn't solve a single thing. I doubt anyone is stressed enough to put a date in which everyone in the whole world would kill themselves...It just seems a bit brutal, or inhumane. And what if some people didn't kill themselves while others did? the few remaining here wouldn't be able to survive without those that killed themselves on this 'date'. so as i most cleaarly stated, i highly disagree with the idea of even thinking up such a strange idea, but i assume it does contain a slight trace of logic.
Their "logic" does nothing but try and force people to agree with them
Noooo mega, I knew you were gonna go off like that, and right after my post too *mourns* :P
On a more serious note, isn't this what all "logic" does? Systems of thought are simply that, after all. Though yeah, without even having to read up, I bet there's a heavy reliance on rhetorical devices...just like on a creationist website or an atheist manifesto >
I would suggest that some of us would consider it worth putting an effort into changing the balance of humanity's direction and interaction with their surrounds- that it is worth being so optimistic as to believe that we are capable of making things for the better.
Also, I wonder whether it'd be worth turning this thread into a discussion on the solutions to looming environmental issues, or try to find that other thread on space expansion...
The solutions to THAT problem are logical. People are not. Obviously, when you have people who want to voluntarily go extinct. It's a very creepy thought.
I see nothing creepy about it. We are a race feuled by greed and power, to the point where we're destroying that from which we came. We're ruining the earth with our filth. I'm not saying that everyone is a bad person, but as a race, we are arrogant, selfish, and very foolish. What makes you all think the human race is even worth saving? The earth has existed for billions of years without us just fine. Billions of species have passed before us, non of whom damaged the planet as much as we have. I know it will never happen so willingly that we stop reproducing, it will probably take a meteor or a comet. Or perhaps a nuclear holocaust. But it doesn't change the fact that we push the earth closer to it's demise everyday.
I did, Grimlok, and the VERY first post is that we are too stressed, and that is why we should kill ourselves. But wouldn't it be easier to release some neurotoxin that left us essentially zombified? Then the remaining survivors could take out the zombies!!! (with guns.) Problem solved.
I guess I find this topic to deserve a response fitting to its seriousness.
