I like texting. It comes in handy especially when I'm in a group and I want to speak to a person in the group in secret. I also use it to communicate simple notifications. But I do agree it is bad if you are one on one with someone and they take out they're cell phone in the middle of a conversation.
People who text disgust me. I just don't see the point. It's just another way to feel like some shut-in who is so afraid of talking that he has to speak using shortened words and terrible grammar.
The downside is that you start to loose the ability to have a conversation with real people. When you go in for a job interview or something, it is a nessicsary skill.
how do people use it when your frequently deleting words or letters that you didnt mean to put there?
Doesn't happen often to me. My phone's dictionary is pretty good, considering how my phone is. And I just turn off T9 when I need to.

The people who text, are ones who have the ability to talk. So you are saying that people who text, are dumb idiots that can't communicate effectively?
Well I like to text and probably do it moe since I have unlimited texting. Is it really fun? Well at first when I was 10 I thought it was amazing and I wanted everyones number when I got my first phone. Ofcourse it has it's downsides, but then again everything does. I can see were someones parents might get mad if they didn't unlimited texting , yet that would also give reason to get unlimited.
