Now I know that there is no rule against having long titles on your Topics, but please, have some common courtesy and make the title short and to the point.
Long, drawn out titles are obnoxious and there is really no point in having them.
Please, let us keep the forums nice and tidy and not have a bunch of threads all over the place that have titles longer than the subject.
A few basic Rules on thread titles.
1. If it is more than five words long, it is to long and should be made shorter.
2. Make it interesting. Don't make a boring thread title, make people want to go to your thread, but keep it at five words or less.
3. If you do make a long title, you are just basically giving the Mod's more work, because now they have to make the title shorter. Something you should have done in the first place.
4. Please try not to misspell words in your titles. It makes the thread look sloppy before anyone even goes into it.
Please just follow these rules on thread titles and keep our forums clean.
Also, would a Mod please tack this thread to the top of the page and then block it so that people can read it for a long time?
You can't really put a limit on how long a thread name should be. It is as long as it needs to be. but if it can be shortened it should. There is exceptions to your title rule of "5 words or less" many actually
here is jroyster22 really an admin if so why. That is more than 5 words and i see no problem with it
i was just pointing out that there is nothing wrong with the number of words in that title and it is more than 5
True, but some people are flaunting the restriction by making nonsensical thread titles. One or two words more than five is not really a big deal, but the fact is that people are making extremely big and pointless titles just because they can.
^^ there are many of those. and they need to be stopped. About half of the OP really should be stickyed because there really are no guide lines on how long a title should be
