Now I know that there is no rule against having long titles on your Topics, but please, have some common courtesy and make the title short and to the point.
Long, drawn out titles are obnoxious and there is really no point in having them.
Please, let us keep the forums nice and tidy and not have a bunch of threads all over the place that have titles longer than the subject.
A few basic Rules on thread titles.
1. If it is more than five words long, it is to long and should be made shorter.
2. Make it interesting. Don't make a boring thread title, make people want to go to your thread, but keep it at five words or less.
3. If you do make a long title, you are just basically giving the Mod's more work, because now they have to make the title shorter. Something you should have done in the first place.
4. Please try not to misspell words in your titles. It makes the thread look sloppy before anyone even goes into it.
Please just follow these rules on thread titles and keep our forums clean.
Also, would a Mod please tack this thread to the top of the page and then block it so that people can read it for a long time?
Yeah all threads suck here. Long gone are the days when you could post something worth while.
And, I only did it as a test (yes, I'm that stupid), and hey! Could you seriously point out 10 people who are stupider then me. Probably...but....never mind.
I make a thread that could kinda, maybe, slightly be considered an ad if you were high and a bit blind and it got locked.
Well you were just saying it is awesome. So even if it isn't advertising, there should of been some good discussion on that site, quick. Looks like the mods got to it fast.
True, but some people are flaunting the restriction by making nonsensical thread titles. One or two words more than five is not really a big deal, but the fact is that people are making extremely big and pointless titles just because they can.
What restriction? The one you made up?
Lower your standards. This is the Tavern
But it is a sh** thread. People couldn't get over an admin with no posts. Admins work on the site! If a mod had 0 posts I'd be worried.
It would make more sense to have a character limit, because a character limit would solve both problems.
How many would you think? It would probably cause some problems too.
I understand what you mean, but sometimes, some titles need a lot of words to describe the subject of a thread, and sometimes you need a lot of words to make your thread title make sense & to make people want to enter it, Also, sometimes little word thread title's are not effective and understandable.
I Know you we're just trying to be helpful, we appreciate that, doubt it will get stickied, and this should really go on S&S forum.
