Now I know that there is no rule against having long titles on your Topics, but please, have some common courtesy and make the title short and to the point.

Long, drawn out titles are obnoxious and there is really no point in having them.

Please, let us keep the forums nice and tidy and not have a bunch of threads all over the place that have titles longer than the subject.

A few basic Rules on thread titles.

1. If it is more than five words long, it is to long and should be made shorter.

2. Make it interesting. Don't make a boring thread title, make people want to go to your thread, but keep it at five words or less.

3. If you do make a long title, you are just basically giving the Mod's more work, because now they have to make the title shorter. Something you should have done in the first place.

4. Please try not to misspell words in your titles. It makes the thread look sloppy before anyone even goes into it.

Please just follow these rules on thread titles and keep our forums clean.

Also, would a Mod please tack this thread to the top of the page and then block it so that people can read it for a long time?

This seems pretty pointless to me, I don't care if the title is long, I will click on it anyways. xD

I think someone flagged it.
Actually I just randomly clicked it, concluded there were awesome shirts, and locked it because the posts were basically "ad, lock it D:". So, it actually got locked for attracting spam instead of spurring discussion. My bad for not writing a lock message.

@The mention of the forums getting less interesting: If you don't like how things are, make an effort to improve them. Whining does nothing.

@This thread: No sticky for it now, but perhaps a note about titles shall be thrown into the sticky updates eventually.

Oh, that's good to know. I thought it was locked because of advertising. Basically it was spam.

Well, it got locked because... An insufficient OP, that led others to consider it advertising, which led it to be locked because of attracted spam. It was borderline advertising, but a differently worded OP might have been able to convince others it wasn't.

Thank you for showing up Zophia, and at least telling me that there might be an amendment made to the Stickeys. I guess my five word rule did not go over well...

Right.

It's fairly difficult to create and OP for something like that and I tried my best, ah well.

Yeah, five words is too short of a limit. It should probably rather be a guideline in the direction of "try to keep your titles short, relevant to the thread, and interesting".

Oh, I know. If others had started discussing the shirts instead of complaining about advertising there'd have been no issue, but it was heading thataway. :/

Fair enough, can I link to it on my profile?

I just think it's a cool idea.
