So, I know this has been tried before but I'm going to attempt to start a thread for the purpose of the explanation of Christianity.

All questions are welcomed but it'd be really cool if only one or two were asked at a time until the previous questions are resolved.

The questions can pertain to Christians as a whole or my own personal faith and beliefs. Also if the questions could remain focused on Christianity and not just become flame it would be great.

Please avoid needless debate as there are plenty of forums on this subject for debate.

Last the floor be open for Q&A

The answer isn't a matter of belief.

[quote]I didn't say I can explain everything, but I think science can.

Gotcha
So your saying to me that your putting your faith in science...

Your belief in this is NO different from mine in God as we both have evidence that proves (to ourselves) that they will never fail us.

Given science's track record of finding answers to things previously thought unobtainable this would be a reasonable assumption to make. A belief in God has no basis in reason but only faith. Leaving it with no real ground to stand on.

Though a better way to have put it would be that he thinks it's probable or possible that science can eventually have an explanation for everything.

Or as wiki puts it.

Mage, I can't believe you would stoop as low as to quote a source of which anyone with the basic knowledge of javascript can change.

only if you use faith to believe it is true.

I liked how they had it worded on wiki. I didn't rely just on it though. Also I think wiki gets more of a bad rap then it deserves.

If they took the right precautions and got their info. from reliable sources, then they might have a better rap.

I just wanted to check in and ask what's the main question of the day; before I dive into the stack of web sites I'm researching.

I want to:
Find factual data supported by actual scientific studies,
Find reliable and factual Christian sites for future reference.

I would appreciate constructive criticism, no flaming please.

Agreed; in the sciences is more reliable than the Encyclopedia Britannica.

The answer isn't a matter of belief.

How so? Just because your discussing science doesn't mean it doesn't deal with belief.

Though a better way to have put it would be that he thinks it's probable or possible that science can eventually have an explanation for everything.

Er, I did. That's all faith is; believing something with out any concrete evidence.
