xbox will manage to sumhow screw it up, and they already know that portable devices aren't where the market is.. cuz simply enough you just cant make amazing games for it. So negatory.
It wouldn't be a portable 360. It would just be a portable handheld device made by Microsoft.
To run against Sony wouldn't be a problem, but Nintendo has taken over the market with the DS.

Actually, Microsoft doesn't take too many risks when it comes to video games. They don't focus on the extra perks like Sony and they like to stick to the basics unlike Nintendo. I think they would create a very solid system. It would definately have better games than the PSP, but to beat Nintendo would be nearly impossible.
Nintendo owns handheld gaming, nothing can come close to its sheer power in that market. But a handheld Xbox would be pretty shweet. Maybe they could call it "Xbox Travel"? And the live on it would be free, that would be cool.
Microsoft probably won't want to join Sony in the handheld market. Seeing as the DS has tight control of it and the PSP is lagging behind in sales. Man, I hate Nintendo nowadays. Also, MS seems happy where it is right now. Why would they want to take risks, as Nemo noted?
