This is a discussion thread about Marijuana, Cannabis, Weed, Dank, 420, Pot. It is currently legal in a few states, though they are regulating the usage of it.
contrary to popular belief, weed doesnt cause cancer, it's like alcohol, impairs your motor skills. that's about it.
I figure you young kids will be eventually come into contact with it once you hit your college/high school years, and it would be good to dispel some wrong and wayward thinking brought on by the government.
so please have fun, ask questions, keep it lighthearted.
For others who partake in god's choice smokes please give me some of your favorite dank
Weed is legal in a couple of states, cali, colorado. up in Canada, Vancouver has legalized weed. Amsterdam too.
It's a great experience really, not advocating you should try it, since it is also quite the expensive plant (prices are artificially inflated in legalized areas also for government control purposes)
DDX caffeine is not worse than Marijuana, and I don't see your research anywhere, so don't chew me out on that. Also, I found a website that says some dangers or Marijuana. And I agree with the website when it says Marijuana is better than tobacco and alcohol. http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/evidence99/marijuana/Health_1.html ...And to anyone who says this information is bad, give me a better source that Harvard for credibility.
when you get down to it all, and i hope this hasn't been said i really did not want to read 25 pages of stuff, the legality, or i suppose illegality, of weed is due to tobacco company's y'know? Like, and idk anyone who is ADDICTED to weed, but like tobacco companies knew that they're product was addictive so they pushed it and pushed it to make money, while marijuana smokers were not as much as a market i suppose...i have no idea if that made since, it sounded better in my mind haha but like, idk if anyone wants to maybe elaborate or clarify what i'm saying? :O
I'm just saying that people who abuse drugs probably started marijuana first
This is actually true. Marijuana is much easier to obtain than other hard drugs, and if you're going to do hard drugs, you're probably going to work your way up starting with marijuana (alcohol if you include legal drugs).
Marijuana has a much softer high than alcohol in my opinion. Legalizing it will keep many people from having to talk to drug dealers at all. Drug dealers who sell marijuana and hard drugs are the people who get teens and adults hooked to hard drugs, not the drugs themselves.
There is no such thing as a gateway drug, end of story.
My biggest concern, is that the tobacco companies WILL get involved with marijuana. That is a fact and I believe one company bought a shit load of land for when marijuana does become legal. That alone makes me not want it legalized. I fucking hate the tobacco companies.
If you live in California or if you know anyone there, and marijuana is legalized, tell them to buy from private growers whenever possible. If I ever to go to California or they legalize weed here (which they made K2 illegal, so it's doubtful), then I will do my best to not buy from the tobacco companies themselves.
Tobacco companies are one of the reasons marijuana was made illegal in the first place! Tobacco companies supported and grew off the criminalization of marijuana! So don't buy from them! Spread the word.

I would be very interested in reading your supporting data. I remember (then) President Nixon and G.Gordon Liddy ranting about spraying pot fields with paraquat back in the early '70's. I always assumed, even though I was a kid, that DC was waging its own war on pot?
If you live in California or if you know anyone there, and marijuana is legalized,
I've checked with Associated Press and CNN and came up dry on finding a story on a tobacco company buying land to manufacture medical marijuana. I'll keep digging but it would help if you know when or which company?
Marijuana does not "kill" brain cells. Where you get this idea is from the multi-billion dollar anti-marijuana campaign that Bush senior did in the early 90s.
The single, isolated, nonpeer-review study it came from was a shame. The process they did to come to the bogus conclusion that marijuana kills brain cells is ridiculous. They put gas masks onto a few monkeys. They then proceeded to pump absurds amounts of marijuana smoke into the masks forcing the monkeys to breath it in within a 45 minute time period. These monkeys received brain damage from the suffocation, not the marijuana.

Correct me Asherlee, if I wrong but wasn't this all going on about the same time of the Iran-Contra arms faux pas? I'm asking because Bush was Reagan's VP and Reagan began his "Just say no", war-on-drugs policy. I'm sure the White House would have preferred if all Americans would never hear of the Iran-Contra Affair but this was huge. Here are the few sources I could come up with and as far back as I could dig without writing a letter and waiting for 3-5 weeks. scroll down half-way until you see marijuana facts/stats
recently some people asked about the difference between type of weed. and really people need to keep in mind that the 2 main different types are Sativa, and indica. how do you know what you're smoking? indica makes you tired and sleepy. whereas sativa is uplifting and energetic (day high) most stoners you see will have smoked an indica plant, because first off, it is less expensive (due to slight dip in THC%) and second of all, it gives you that stoney body high feeling and makes you incredibly dumb. to the entire world for like 2 hours
