Because people get pissed whrn you think you're better than them
Post this was in deleted for the last bit of it, which was evading the censor purely to deliver an unnecessary insult.
Actually I don't see anything offensive with the OP. Those colours were used to describe people in the stuff I read as a kid too. I don't see the racism in that. The racism is only added when you assume one colour is better than another.
Well when I was a kid you called Asians yellow, Indians red, Mexicans brown , black people black, and white people white.
Define "you"...
Keep in mind that anything can offend anybody at any time. It isn't like everybody is offended by the same things. Maybe some people of Asian descent got offended by the label "yellow" and decided that they would no longer put up with it. The point is, it's politically incorrect now because they are offended by it, not because other people are necessarily afraid to offend them; though, that can play a part in it too.
I really don't understand why so many things are classed as racism. Description is different to insulting or diminishing somebody. I could understand someone getting annoyed if they were insulted because of their complexion or nationality, but describing them by how they look isn't problematic. I think people have just taken racism too far (not as in people are too racist, but people are considered racist for even the simplest of unoffensive comments.
For the same reason that "chink", "chinaman", and "jap" are politically incorrect: they were used as derrogatory terms, and they offended the people who they were used on. There isn't really a way to say, "Hey, that person is yellow" in a positive way.
i think it has to do with stereotyping. It is a fact that china people can't drive cars but it is mean because it is a stereotype, jk. But it is also true that asians are yellow but it is a stereotype so it is mean...

it made sense to me anyway
It's too bad you didn't realize in that thought-train that we stereotype every second we see something.
There isn't really a way to say, "Hey, that person is yellow" in a positive way.
That isn't necessarily because they're Chinese, but more because they didn't have as much driving experience when they lived in China, so they aren't used to it. This is true for anybody who has little driving experience.
But it is also true that asians are yellow
True...? o_O
Have you ever seen an Asian person who was literally yellow? I don't think so. Then again, are white people actually "white", or black people actually "black"? No, they're only labels used to categorize people in derrogatory ways.

How is that derogatory? "black people" or, Africans/ African Americans, have the darkest skin. "White people" or, Caucasians, etc., have the whitest skin, and are therefore labeled as white. No white person gets made when someone says that they're white. Blacks usually *USUALLY* don't get angry when referred to as black, because, that's what they are.
Now, Asians don't necessarily have YELLOW skin, however, their skin is the yellowEST out of the major races (by major I mean white, black, Spanish, etc. Don't refer to New Zealanders or something). "Yellow" is simply a term used to describe their skin color, and I don't see a reason to be offended by that.
MrPockets finds this topic extremely racist because just because Asians are "yellow" there are so many stupid racist jokes about them. MrPockets thinks anyone who calls anyone by the color of there skin is retarded.
