This goes with the assumption that good = light and darkness = evil more than the racial associations, as far as I know at least. I find it silly reasoning. As you said, though:
Now, don't argue with me that YOU, specifically, do not associate things in that way. The point is not to address the specific you.
... so I'll just shrug at it.
Why would colours even be used derogatorily anyway? I can't see how they'd be effective insults. O.o

AHHHEEEMMM![/quote]Look it up in a dictionary before ... Yeah, just do that.
I don't know why I even bother, no one on this section of the forum actually reads and understands any other posts but their own...

Everything else I was gonna comment on has already been addressed somehow. Hmm.
Meh, I don't get it. I call white people White, Black people black, Asian people yellow, Indian people brown, and Native people chugs. That last one doesn't always go over that well, but people usually don't care. Differentiating people by skin colour is no different than differentiating by sex. I see no problem in using colours as means of description in a non derogatory context.
Why do ignorant white people always complain that they cant call people by racial slurs. Do they simply not understand historical context, or are they just plain ignorant. Seriously crackers, enlighten me.
Because white imperlaists (mainly british) had run out of colours. Africans were blacks, indians, pakistanis and bangladeshis were brown, asians needed to be given a colour for the sake of easy reference too.
why they call affricans black? if you take the same colour of theye skin from a pencil and you say to people thats black they think your not normal. and we are not white, we are pink or rosa, if you want some white than look on white paper. **** racism! oh, and by the way, the american indian/aborigine american has no natural red skin, they coloured themself with blood red.
