Im not much of a fan of really hardcore rock but i do like songs with rock elements. However rap is just mindless pointless rubbish anyone could do it.

It depends on which type of rock you are talking about here. Are you talking about the REAL classic rock? Or are you talking about that crap that they try to pass off as rock nowadays?

it depends because if youre toalking about gay papa roach nickelback theory of a dead man kinda gay rock then no i like rap.

but rock in general like rush, sick puppies, zepplin, and dave matthews band then yes i would prefer rock.

but i do prefer to ply my drums to hip hop beats because alot of the time they are harder then the stuff my band plays.

It's a very difficult comparison you're making here... :S

Both genres have such a vast amount of different artists accounted for, that a true decision is always controversial... 0_o

But as a big fan of music in general I'd go for..... ahm..... wel.... ROCK!!! =D
It's always been my favorite sort of music, so deciding for the other would mean I'd be ignoring myself...

Rock all the way!!! Rap is fake....well not really, like i a like rap rock music, but the rap that talks about killing/sex/drugs, i hate those songs. Also the dumb same rethym in the background. Go rock! (Well mostly alt.rock and all the other alt.)

well i really enjoy eminem but i dont really like any other rappers rock isnt bad but eminem is much better. But when i go running or make any other sports i prefer to hear metal or hardrock it just motivates extremely good
