I'm 13 and I'm going to be circumcised on Saturday, here are my questions. Is it painful? If so, how painful? How long will it take? Will the anesthesia be administered by hypodermic needle or by rubbing? I have somewhat of a phobia of needles. Please reply.
Make sure you ask for general anesthesia, unless you want to be awake while circumcised. If you don't, they might give you local anesthesia and you'll be awake during the procedure, be it though you aren't feeling anything. From what I know, it feels kinda scary knowing someone is cutting your foreskin with sharp tools, while you barely feel anything while lying down. Meh cousin got a circumcision.
Because it's a legitimate topic, and not deemed inappropriate by the Mods. Why not have a topic on this subject? It's interesting to see the different opinions on this matter.
It is very painful
Not too much. You may feel irritation as your genitalia recover, though. The most physical pain during the procedure itself is the injection. Most of the pain of circumcision isn't physical, I presume.
why is this post even on here? no offense to anybody intended, but just wondering
This is a legitimate topic and it doesn't really break the rules. I've seen more graphic threads here. As long as no one goes into too much detail, including pictures, this ought to be fine. Also, like Snakebite said this is good discussion.
I'm guessing he has been circumcised due to his inactivity.
Yes. I hope he recovers soon enough, so he can tell us. Might be several days till he'll be back.
yea, but it'd have to be hellishly uncomfortable...
Yes, unless you are awesomely fearless. Even for people who are voluntarily getting it done, the thought of something cutting your body will most of the time be something worried about.
I really dislike the fact that he was being coerced into it, it's an incredibly personal decision, that can change your life, it's most definitely not something to rush into...
Ask Doctor Strop. Though from what I read, they mostly use local anesthesia and not general. The anesthesia which puts you to sleep if general. Local anesthesia keeps you awake, but unfeeling in the area which which it has been administered to.
It's not really painful (the surgery itself), as you get anesthesia. Yes, you get injected. The most physically painful experiences would probably be irritation from recovery and the injection of anesthesia.
And this is AG, so there won't be many pictures of kids' sausages being operated upon around here. They're quite bloody. Sadly, other people are circumcised without anesthesia, which must be as painful as hell.
