That sounds like a good idea to me. I know some mods do post a reason, and some threads are obvious, but there are those that I have no idea why they were locked.

The reason could be clearly defined in the rules.

+ I would guess laziness and the annoyance of doing redundancies in locking so much of the time.

this would go into the suggestions area (Locked for being in wrong section)

many mods put it anyways that it was just spam... its almost rare that a mod wouldnt post why they're locking it.

We normally do post a reason. Sometimes I suppose one might not be posted because the reason is blatantly obvious. But if there is any question about the threads, an explanation is normally left.

I'd also like to add, that sometimes the issues are addressed to the user's profile.

I disagree, I think if you repeat an offense and keep getting punished for it, you should be able to deduct what you did wrong.

I got a thread locked a month or two ago for 'many reasons' that I didn't know any of. I never heard back...When a mods lock a thread, they should have reasons to choose from and click one, and it will say that on the topic.

I have a question to all the mods: does anyone know what happened to my topic in WEPR that was about the equality of men and women? It seems to have disappeared.

If people read the forum rules, they would have never started such a topic...

To the people that are saying negative things about starting this thread: The mods obviously have no problem with it, so shut up.

I know some mods just put it on your profile, but if you post it, all the people who read the locked thread will know what you did wrong, and hopefully, not do it themselves.

yea, stop saying this is gonna get locked, cuz it hasnt, and 2 mods have posted here already..

i for one, have never had my thread locked... haha, i just started my first one, maybe... 25 minutes ago? anyways, from wat i've seen, they do put a reason... usually, except, like, most of ya'll have said, its obvious...

Unfortunately I still have no idea why the bad translator thread was locked...

I agree with the OP, although the conversation could be brought to the profile, I think that a relevant locking post should be available to see as well.
