Interviews. AG should have a monthly interview with a recent programer that's well known. I love reading those. And I think it should be a big deal to be asked to get interviewed, not handed out easily.
Contests. Last time there was a contest on AG was in 2008... I'd love to vote for some games to get prizes and such. It could be monthly or even long term, yearly. They're just loads of fun.
If I remember right, the people who interview and do the blog aren't really part of the AG teams. The admins and co. will only be interviewed when they want.
I find the blog is pretty active at the moment, there are quite a few blog posts now. About a new one every two weeks or months.
You can't interview the Admins every month, what if they have nothing to say?

There were contests on AG? I wasn't there then, or you might be wrong... State a bit more about the contests. What's the point of them? How/who will organize them? You could just make a thread in the Tavern on it.

Well it doesn't just have to be a programer. It could be a well-known user or just some random guy picked out of a hat. Also what kinda of interview are we talking about here? Will it be a interview about that person's life or will it be an interview about that person's Ag life? Also who would make them and who would run them? Dan or Carlie or one of the other Admin's would have to organize the whole thing or again some random guy picked out of a hat?

There are contest's on Ag but not the kind your talking about, right? Well the ones your probably talking about again would need a Contest Master and they would have to be very active with Ag also they would need alot of free time on their hands. If this were to happen then it would be alot like the Interview thing. It would take alot of time to plan and create. Said person would have to do that job for alot of their Ag time.
Also if they do make this happen they how much power are you going to give these people who run this? Will you ake them like a Mod? Or will you keep them at a normal level like the average Ag user? These question's will have to be answered before even thinking about making this happen.
Now don't get me wrong these are good ideas, and I think that they would be a good thing for the site.
See beuno your already saying what will happen on the site and what won't Your obviously a born leader...
What's the point of them? How/who will organize them?
1. The point of the contest is for the people who make games. If AG is willing to throw a contest with awesome prizes, people are more determined to make epic games in my eyes. The overall point is to get great games on the site.
2. The contest will be organized by a little poll on the home page with a range of games (around 5), and everyone could vote on which game they like the best. AG will organize it of course, it's really not that difficult...

Sounds great. I would like to vote for my favorite games.
Thanks! Yeah, me too, that's why I suggested it. o3o

I wouldn't go that far, but I see what you mean. Yeah, like a member of the month/year, that's a cool idea also.
Will it be a interview about that person's life or will it be an interview about that person's Ag life?
Well, for the game developer, it would be about their life, and how they came across developing games and such. For the member,I'm not 100% sure, maybe the same thing, and how they got into the AG forums.
Also who would make them and who would run them?
Most likely, Carlie or the Mods.
There are contest's on Ag but not the kind your talking about, right?
Yeah, lol, I should've made that more clear, sorry. Game contests, like the best game.
they would need alot of free time on their hands.
Sorta, but I mean they work for Armor Games so...
Also if they do make this happen they how much power are you going to give these people who run this?
NONONONONONOOOO! The people who are already Moderators and Staff members will run these events!!!!!

Hehe, if you check the past five pages of the blog, they interviewed quite a few people.
Louissi Coolio_Niato (Before he became an intern.) Ido Tal (Portal: The Flash Version) Patrick Majewski (Godlimations) Jared Riley (Hero Interactive)
Those are people that AG interviewed from October until March. It's been quite a while since the last for some reason.
Though having regular interviews would be good and I also believe that the format the blog's already present interview would be good.
Interviewing users, well that really depends you know.
As for competitions, I believe we'll get them back when the time's right. Ever since AG 2.0 came out, the contests died down.

Well, if they were randomly-picked users who have been on the site for a while or two, then that could work. It could be three months, six months, twelve months, but it doesn't necessarily have to be how well-known the user is. Simply taking an AG survey (which we did have once) in which all participants have a say can also work.

I could lie and say "3.0", but again, that may not be enough if there aren't the right amount of games in particular categories to make one with. That and the acknowledgment of one...
We did, and it was run by Adam (fst6). However it failed and died out some time after I left. Was that May or July, I'm forgetting? A simple survey is rather boring to be honest. If that was the case, might as well put it on the forums. Also you'll have to interview moderators and regulars. Hmm, never occurred to me that we could interview the mods. Everyone in the administrative team has been interviewed except for Daniel, Carlie, cormyn, Justin and Krin. Justin by the way, has been running the blog for a while. I believe for.

Uh, do we need to theme contests according to category? What do you mean exactly? I am thinking sometime after AG 3.0, not before that.
I am just going to say that if you are planning to have the contests be official, give out awesome prizes from AG, and have the game be featured on the front page and whatever... Please keep the mods out of this, huh?
Yeah... I said programmers, like the people who make awesome games.
Again, you can't interview them every month: Good games take months to make, and programmers only give info when they want to, not when the general public wants it.
And as Knight pointed out, we've recently had a lot of interviews.
Interviewing users, well that really depends you know.
be funny, but not appropriate for the blog. Didn't ft6 make a sort of newspaper thread a year ago or so? It was pretty good, and would work as a template for this.
ASIDUNASOD HERE
I believe the reason AG stopped those contests was because they had big money prizes. It would encourage game-makers, but at what cost?
Please keep the mods out of this, huh?
I don't see how mods could help in those competitions except regulate them, as you guy haven't really shown any coding talent/interest except Dank.
When I said most likely Carlie or the Mods, I was referring to the interviews. Haha, sorry for the misunderstanding.
You want to interview mods? OK... Only if they seriously want it for some reason.
It could be a well-known user or just some random guy picked out of a hat.
Well-known is good, but not random: if we picked a ghost or dead user, it would look pretty dumb. And not everyone has an interesting AG life...

Okay. Still, though. We don't have a horrible lot of contact with many of the developers, and it might not be something we would... care to do, considering we would need to be actually interested in it to take time out of our day to interview people. This, of course, does not stop others from doing so.

It has nothing to do with interests in programming. If something is to be featured on AG, they have to go through Dan or some of the staff, considering they are the ones that work on the coding. We mods have nothing to do with how the site is run, what to show and stuff like that. Consider us the police of the site, not the Government.

It was AG Daily created by Adam (fst6). Thread was deleted, no reference to it exists.
As for interviews, I believe that is Justin's job. He took over from Filip (I'm not sure who's Filip exactly) a few months ago. I don't know why we'd get the mods to do that, unless they specifically asked too.

Mods don't govern that, maybe someone like John would. As Cen said, it doesn't need to be run by the moderators and it goes with the staff who are devs.
Some people don't realize these days that the moderators aren't the most powerful.
