yes im making another one of these world cups. not to compete, just for the heck of it.
basically the rules in this one are the same as the other ones only i will have 8 groups of 4 artists that are all based in the 21'st century. any bands that played majorly in the 80's of 90's will not be on here. so if i get suggestions on my page for metallica ill go crazy.
the vote limit will be 1 vote per person and first artist to 8 votes wins.
if 8 votes is not reached it will be every three days. please if i forget that its been 3 days, somebody tell me.
Thank you Del! I've enjoyed viewing some great vids and listening to some really good guitarists. I wish this contest every success.
After I had already heard of Dave Matthews, I listened to the others because that's the bar I set for the others to rise to.
I vote for JOHN MAYER. He's an awesome guitarist who has accompanied Eric Clapton with both the electric and acoustic guitars, sings like Sting and plays the electric piano like Elton John!
I vote for Mayer. Never heard of him till last night. He had a gig here in Portugal, it was on tiv, live, and i was absolutely stunned with his talent.
First of all... WHY HAVEN'T YOU TOLD ME THAT YOU HAVE A SISTER THREAD GOING?!?! O_O
Great setup and good choice in the first group line up! =D
Let's see... hmmmm...
#Dave Matthews Band is a band I'm only starting to explore, since they haven't had a lot of air time yet here in the Netherlands, but from what I've heard so far, it's something to look for in the future... =) #Jack Johnson... no, he's simply too soft for me... and allthough he started out great with his first single ever, he simply blew my fuses with hanging on to that 'mellow-smooth-I'm-so-relaxed-I-could-sleep' type of music, it makes me want to hate him for that! :S Now it's getting hard... #Allthough he amazed me with his great voice and the wonderfully talented music he brings to us (really a great performer I tell you) I really have to give my vote to... Jason Mraz!!! He's one of those people that also has a smooth type of music, but somehow he has a much nicer voice to listen to (comparing to Johnson), therefor making it way more pleasant and appreciated to keep this genre. Plus, he's someone that makes you smile when you hear his music and allthough Mayer is a great artist, he can not relate to the happy vibes from Mraz... there! =D
I like Jason Mraz, but I like John Mayer a bit more. His Continuum album really floats my boat as well, me being a big blues fan. So my vote would be for John Mayer
I like all the other bands, but the style of 30StM attracts me the best out of these four bands! I will be seeing them perform live on a festival in July and I can't wait to hear Jared Leto burst his lungs... =P
Wow, another outstanding lineup! I've chills just trying to decide because, Disturbed is already a great group to play for Wrestling's TNA show, Linkin Park's Chester Bennington has already sang with, Slash and Satch @ Camp Freddy, singing "Highway to Hell, better than AC/DC, I might add and blowing me away with "Whole Lotta Love" just as well as Led Zepplin!
System of a Down is quickly becoming the latest group to reach "classic rock" status, in my opinion so with that, they get my vote.
I know I will be listening to more from 30 Seconds to Mars because they are extremely talented.Very tough decision!
I'll vote for Linkin Park. I love Chester's range in vocals and the difference between his shouting and singing. Shinoda is good, but I like his Fort Minor stuff better as compared to what he does in Linkin Park.
