Is it just me, or are there an awful lot of fake comments being left on the newer games? It seems like every new game I click, there's a comment telling me to buy Nikes from some website. Are these actual registered users doing this or what? If they are, can't they be removed? Not only that, but the comments are so long you can't even read any of the real comments about the game because there isn't any room!
Spam is something unavoidable. They can be removed, but the team doesn't have enough time to crack down on the spam-filled comment sections of well over 1000+ games. Just flag. If you notice someone spamming excessively, report them. That is all you can do.
HumbledSoul is talking about bots/automatic programs designed to register for sites automatically and spam them. The things where you type down the letters from an image is a "CAPTCHA". It's a test used to ensure that the entity accessing something is human.

Every time you see these spamming ads, flag them. I thought it was just one person that was recently banned but that was more than a week ago. If this is still happening don't tell us who it is, tell the mod squad and give them links, page numbers for multiple hits per game, etc.
Yes. Comments are deleted everyday and threads are locked every hour. We may even have a mod for every time zone because I've pulled all-nighters before and there's always one active.
Still it prevents bots from making massive amounts of fake accounts, which is good. AG may not be a target for such attacks now, but all good sites utilize CAPTCHA. Hey, doesn't the 30 second limit also prevent bots from mass spamming?
