The Megadeth vs Metallica thing has been going on since Dave Mustaine was kicked out of Metallica and Megadeth rose up to challenge Metallica. Which band do you prefer? What are you favorite albums and songs?

they do have straight foward meanings alot of the time, but they evolved.

as theyre albums have grown into more poetic lyrics over time. while megadeth have always been good at writing storys in there songs
Sure, the lyrics on Kill'em All are bad, but how come you think Metallica's lyrics are bad? How come this be bad:

Not mention many others. Sorry man, you may not like Metallica but saying their lyrics are bad is just stupid.
Megadeth is way better than Metallica not only for consistency, but because Megadeth's overall musicianship is much better. Also Dave wrote about half of Kill em All, and two songs on Ride the Lightning. Not trying to go off topic, but Kirk Hammett not only took the Four Horsemen from Mustaine, he also took a song(Trapped Under Ice) riffs and solos from Gary Holt when Kirk was in Exodus.
I think Metallica is better. Think about it, Dave Mustaine was released from Metallica for being a crappy band member. If he would've never screwed up, Megadeth wouldn't exist. So Megadeth is kind of like an accident. Metallica has more legacy, and is more thrash. Metallica is the greatest band of all time. No argument.
Metallica is not more thrash than Megadeth. I'll admit Kill em All, And Justice for All and Ride the Lightning are good, but Killing is My Buisness, Peace Sells,So Far So Good So What and Rust in Peace are much better. Also Dave may have been a screwed up alcoholic (now sober) band member but he is a much better guitarist than James and Kirk. James couldn't even play guitar when Metallica first formed. Megadeth may have been an accident but there much better than Metallica. One more thing Master of Puppets is the most overrated album and there not they are not the greatest band ever.

Compare KIMB, Endgame, Rust in Peace, SFSGSW or basically any other Megadeth album to ANYTHING Metallica have ever done -- Megadeth has always been thrash metal (except for a short lapse in the late 90s), while Metallica was becoming less thrashy from the moment it was born
