The Megadeth vs Metallica thing has been going on since Dave Mustaine was kicked out of Metallica and Megadeth rose up to challenge Metallica. Which band do you prefer? What are you favorite albums and songs?
*Sigh*... just because they have "Deth" In their name doesn't make them death metal. They're thrash metal, which is fast guitar beats and average to good singing. Death Metal is double bass all the timeand awful singing. There's a difference.
I think Metallica is better because Kirk Hammett is a better overall guitarist than both Dave Mustaine, who is rhythm guitar, and Marty Friedman, who gave up Metal... Hetfield is a better guitarist and singer than Mustaine. He has a better voice and plays very clean. Ulrich is a better drummer than whoever Megadeth has, because he's sick. And, Metallica had a series of good bassists. There was Ron McGovney (I think that's how you spell his last name...) who left because he couldn't stand Mustaine, Cliff Burton who was a god, Jason Newsted, and now Rob Trujillo.
Metallica is the greatest band of all time. No argument.
Your comment was doing so great until I read this. Metallica is amazing, but they're not the best band of all time. That would be either the Beatles, whose music is still popular even to this day, or AC/DC, whom I'm completely obsessed with, and they're very consistent and have 4 albums that should be considered the greatest albums ever.

Anyways, as I said before, they're equal. They both have epic guitarists, write epic lyrics, and both sing very good (although Mustaine sounds like he has a cold).
Kirk Hammet is one of the most overrated guitarist. Dave Mustaine and Marty Friedman are much better, and like I said before he took a lot of his early material from Gary Holt and Dave Mustaine. As for base players I will give that one to Metallica, I still have respect for Cliff Burton. I also think Mustaine is also a better vocalist. James Hetfield has been singing like a wussy since load.
