Nobody. It was an industrial accident, end of story.

Uhm, you could blame BP for not taking the proper precautions, and you could blame Government for not forcing BP to take the right precautions. The finger can point both ways honestly. So both are at fault. You can also blame car company's for not using mass production on more costly but natural alternatives. And instead of trying to find who to blame, why not find a way to clean it up and stop it?

Well i say its the company who owns the wells fault because after all it was their well so it should be their fault for its destruction.

In response, it wouldn't of happened if Government wouldn't of okayed it for them to drill down here. I hate BP, and I refuse to get my gas from there, and down here in the Gulf, there are over 2,000 people who no longer fuel up at BP, and alot of of others are catching on and spreading the word. It was too expensive anyways, and with the loss of so much oil from here, their prices will spike and eventually (hopefully) go out of bussiness. We don't need so many big oil brands... geez.

Actually, yes we do. If there are too few, then prices will skyrocket from monopoly. If only one or two companies make up most of the market, they could make it $30 per gallon, and nobody would be able to say anything.

Moon, the sad fact is they HAD to drill down there, as do all the other companies. All the coastal shallow drilling is either too little to bother or drained out, and with the norths massive oil resevoirs being off limits, their out of options.

There are alternatives. But they are very costly and no one wants to change their profit that they are making now to something that would help the enviorment. I'm sure that there are some people in favor of this, but there aren't enough. And yeah I guess that their should be alot of brands, but doesn't mean I gotta like it ">,>

Hey moon I doubt 2000 or so people not buying from BP will hurt it alot. All it will do is give other companies more profit and they will get even bigger if BP collapses. (doubtful) I like I dont have to buy my gas from just one or two corporations. Orion has you on that one.

You doubt alot dontcha? And I'm not saying that it will hurt them, but I just don't like drilling in the gulf! And as you can clearly see, I agreed with Orion on that topic.
And giving the other companies more money and getting bigger, might help. They could learn from BP's mistakes.

Well BP is not the only ones drilling in the Gulf. They are just the ones who got the most notice because their pipe broke. Why sont we just go drilling in ALaska instead? Where ever they drill some people aren't going to like it.

We're already drilling in Alaska, artard. That's where the former largest US oil spill occurred. And they're STILL recovering from it.

I still say nuclear power is the first step toward clean energy. All the stupid electric or hybrid cars aren't going to do anything if they still rely on coal-burning power plants to supply their energy. And turning corn into fuel was just a stupid idea to begin with...

What about the waste from the nuclear plants? If that is our only clean energy option I cant wait for 2012.

Way to go my fellow Mobilian! Yeah it has been a decade since then, and they still haven't recorvered entirely.

Corn into fuel wasn't the brightest, but I wish I could go back in time and kill the dodo head who made oil the huge thing of today.

Obamas response to the oil spill is the equivalent, if not worse than Bushs response to Katrina.
