So I know there's was already a thread about this but I stopped looking for it after 5 pages...
But anyways, this will hopefully be the official Black Ops thread. Talk about it, discuss it, etc. Obviously, the game isn't out yet, but w/e. (That was a ****load of commas)

1) You only get two perks in mutliplayer, and this combination of perks determines your third perk. 2) There is a new armour system, e.g. Cold-Blooded and juggernaut are armours you can wear (not much detail given on this). 3) The FAMAS returns, but is no longer a 3-round burst weapon. Instead it is full-auto. 4) There is no M4. Instead another new gun mentioned seems like it will take its place, the SIG Commando. 5) Other new weapons confirmed include the RPK, Skorpion and MAC11. 6) There is no commando perk. (:]) 7) The scavenger perk is included, but no longer replenishes equipment. 8) The One man army perk is also not included. 9) The highest killstreak reward (at this time in devlelopment) is 15. 10) There is no emergency airdrop, but there is a care package. 11) As confirmed before, killstreaks will not stack. For instance, if you get a 5 kills without dying and receive your killstreak reward, the kills you get with that killstreak reward will not count towards your next killsreak (e.g. 7 kill killsteak). You will have to get two more kills, in that instance, by other means to receive your next killstreak. 12) You can sprint to prone in the current build of the game. Basically this means you can dive straight on your belly after sprinting, instead of having to stop, crouch and than go prone. 13) The tactical knife is gone, while a new knife is being introduced: the ballistic knife. This is a knife that has a spring that can shoot a blade (in real life, not necessarily in the game). 14) The claymore is a piece of equipment, and you only get 1 per life. 15) Grenades are not considered equipment, and replenished by scavenger. 16) The M16 is in the game, and still a powerful weapon. (Or as Woody puts it, still the ****!) 17) The PSG1 sniper rifle is in the game. 18) UAV, airstrike and 3 types of helicopters are back as killstreaks. The Pave Low is confirmed as well, and has a feature unique to the game. 19) The SR-71 plane is also one of the killstreak rewards.
I am accurate enough however, to do a Quickscope across the map. Well, I would've been able to buy I'm rusty now.
Yeah, me too, but you have to quickscope a lot and practice it a lot in order to get that good. But it's not like that when you're using an assault rifle.
Someone turns around the corner with the Intervention and someone starts shooting at them with their M16, they quickscope immediately and kill the person as soon as the bullet hits (instantly). Advantage much?
I'm sorry Highfire, but I disagree. From my experience, I've been killed by an M16 faster than I could scope in to do a quickscope, and I have pretty good reaction times. Plus 1 burst close range with an M16 is enough to kill someone, no matter where you shoot. Snipers not so much. If you don't hit the person in the chest/head, you're screwed.
Intense.... I just paid for Black Ops today actually. Got the pre-order now I just have to wait for release. I traded in that MW2 crap on it. I loved to quickscope but MW2 seriously sucked..... Hopefully they won't mess up Black Ops
Yeah, me too, but you have to quickscope a lot and practice it a lot in order to get that good.
Yes, kinda. Elitemagical was kind enough to get someone called "Chronix" to have a QS NS match. Elitemagical also taught me a new strategy to QS'ing (new to my previous way) and when I tried it I became much more accurate. Every time I've had a match with Chronix my 'skill' or accuracy thereof shot up amazingly. So in a way.... You don't need ALOT of practice you just need good people to go up against. A pro-level person won't get any better fighting 3 bad ones, but 1 bad one won't get his maximum level-up potential up against a pro. You need the fine tuning - someone better (in my case 12x better) that you can adjust to.
If you don't hit the person in the chest/head, you're screwed.
I rarely miss those areas at close range, used to be long range as well.
I'm sorry Highfire, but I disagree. From my experience, I've been killed by an M16 faster than I could scope in to do a quickscope,
Hrmm... Well, I wouldn't argue that, but in my experience it's always been the other way around :/
It's often that the enemy panics whenever I go around the corner with a Sniper (I use Snipers for close range as well), or they're just terrible at aiming.
By the way, if you know how no-scoping works then you can manipulate it amazingly, I know I've been able to save my hide after running around the corner with a quick but timed noscope. I do it rarely, but when I do do it, it often hits.
I loved to quickscope but MW2 seriously sucked.....
Same, I wouldn't mind giving in QS'ing for Black Ops, if I decide to get it. I don't even play MW2 to be honest, I'm finding back some fun in Battlefield Bad Company 2, I really like the effects of Snipers, with their slow loading and bullet fall. It makes me feel like I'm actually a long-range marksman, so good.
Plus 1 burst close range with an M16 is enough to kill someone, no matter where you shoot.
This sounds rediculous, but 'no matter' doesn't include away from the enemy. It's amazing how inaccurate people are honestly, they're the kind of people who shoot from afar with near-equal ratios.
Well there is a leaked Call Of Duty: Black ops Zombie game play. Its in the user made movies of black ops in Game Trailers site. Just some info for you zombie fans like me
Someone who is at least average at Quickscoping will easily beat an average player with an M16. Why? Because Quickscoping standards are inexplicibly higher whilst 'regular' players are pretty terrible in all aspects of the game.
Yeah, but that's because quickscoping takes more skill
but 'no matter' doesn't include away from the enemy. It's amazing how inaccurate people are honestly, they're the kind of people who shoot from afar with near-equal ratios.
Well, I should have been more specific :/ When I said "no matter where you shoot" I assumed you knew that I meant wherever the person with the m16 shoots on the enemy, and it would be really hard to miss at close range.
Yeah, but that's because quickscoping takes more skill
No, it doesn't.
There's a difference between skill and practice.
black ops is for little nerds who have nothing better to do then sit in front of a tv all day and shoot at virtual people and get all excited
And yes, there is truth in this statement.
Well, I should have been more specific :/ When I said "no matter where you shoot" I assumed you knew that I meant wherever the person with the m16 shoots on the enemy, and it would be really hard to miss at close range.
I was being sarcastic. But yes, whilst it's hard they manage to do it. :/
So you're saying that the inevitable 400k people that will play it all have no lives?
I'd say other people would be better off without their lives, for the most part. If you're offending because you play it and you think it refers to you, then yes, it probably does.
That doesn't mean there isn't a correlation. With more cats there are less rats - neither animal is related to the other - but that will always be true. Similarly, with more practice there's more skill, they're not the same but one leads on to the other.
The best quickscopers can immediately judge where their bullet is going to land. I class that as skill.
So you're saying that the inevitable 400k people that will play it all have no lives?
Yup. Apparently sitting in the front of the television doing anything else entitles you to life.
why is it that people keep slating black ops for taking stuff out of other games the comparing it with MW2 and saying a load of bull about how they want the heli in it to be more like the chopper gunner? i can't understand the logic in that.. its kinda contradicting.. besides my copy was sent in the post this morning should be here in a day or two mwaha
The best quickscopers can immediately judge where their bullet is going to land.
1. I am not the best Quickscoper. But I can do that. Used to, anyway. :P
I class that as skill.
I think we should clarify wtf skill is. Sounds like reaction to me, reactions are needed in the most competitive (real) matches, and you're often judged by your reaction. Skill... I don't see what's there to get, I have really good accuracy (especially to the average MW2 gamer) and my reaction time exceeds theirs significantly. It really isn't that difficult.
