Oh , Sorry . I don't know anything about Native Americans since in Australia they don't teach much about American History , It's more on Australian History.
Chitown, how do you find the story boring?? It is humans, invading a foreign hostile earth-like planet, where a gigantic race roams and the two battle it out, as LEGEND_beast said, Nature vs. Technology, exactly, in a sense, its a war between two different people, in different stages of advancement, and yet, the less advanced win, and peace is returned to Pandora. How do you find that boring?? But yes, the graphics were amazing, I was expecting them to be, they worked years on this movie, the graphics should be good.
That movie was the most epic movie i ever seen. It was so cool and the giant fight seen at the end was EPIC in the making :P And yes it was kind of like Pocahontas o.o
Most likely either or all of; headaches, glasses on glasss and a distraction.
I didn't think much of it the plot was unoriginal the characters textbook and boring. I like originality in my films. I'm not saying it's bad but when I think of good films it won't be on my list.
Sure, the effects and 3-D were beyond spectacular, but that is all the movie has. Once you peel away that and examine the true aspects of movie, beyond the surface, you notice that it is ridden with cliches, poorly acted, almost exactly the same as the Pocahontas story line, and it has not parallel in the real world, yet that is clearly what they are trying to do.
Same people think that it is symbolic of the oil companies, but when cross examined closely that does not make sense. Some people think it is symbolic of Iraq, but even on the surface that does not pan out.
Over all, I give this movie a 1/10, that 1 is for the effects. It was a miserable waste of my time, and after about 20 minutes in the theater (that was how long it took for the effects to stop being cool, new and amazing), I was wishing every second that it would end, but it just dragged on and on and on.
