Post your playable Crush the Castle 2 maps. There are other threads for talking about CtC2. If it's not good for shooting at or interesting to look at don't put it here: NO castles that fall apart by themselves, NO random junk piles.

My Profile Armatar has had a mind of it'sown today, it's changed itself 4 times on it's own (that I've noticed).

Looks like the PE is stuck in the past. It's off by about 10 hours or so. Castles submitted within the past 10 or so hours still say that they were submitted "seconds ago".

To Joey Betz (from your blog):

So some notes about the build. In previous CTC games you would click to start the launch of the trebuchet and click again to release the projectile. This was perfect for the gameplay at the time because it was all about timing your shots perfectly. As the game progressed and sequels were made I noticed that the timing element got to be a bit of a nuisance, specifically for those levels where accuracy was key. Some might say this was the difficulty curve, but I felt like it was bad design more than anything. Iâm hoping this new gameplay fixes the âluckâ factor that plagued the original. Any feedback is much appreciated.

I think I know where you are going with this but when you make it too easy to win the game, it kind of defeats the purpose. Aiming is a skill that we have learned and have tried to teach our new disciples to understand. However, ha ha ha, we will figure it out your code and make it difficult!!!!! timestables and Ernie15 levels are all skilled based. Many of mine are as well. Based on AG revenue issues, we have to find a balance somehow. Watch this thread or create another for CTC3 but I like it when you address your minions direct on this thread. I have some ideas that may please you and the rest of the flock!

Interesting results so far - Again, I am losing! HA HA HA Maybe I hid the fuse too much! Ernie's level is definitely the most difficult and very challenging to complete. Are we competing for the minions or ourselves? Hmmm.... We might have to rethink the scoring issues in other games (or not). However, I hate making levels merely for the masses but whatever, I like the innovation part!

We definitely need to revise how the contest works, there's no doubt about that. If we all just create levels for the masses, all we have to do to win is create a level with a recognizable picture and lots of TNT. If, however, we're creating levels for each other, we can have the points of view of many different experienced builders without having to rely on whatever the general CTC2PP population thinks of our creations as how we base our results.

without having to rely on whatever the general CTC2PP population thinks of our creations as how we base our results.

I have to agree. As you know, in the past, the winner of latest competition became the judge of the next in old CtC threads. But then, we didn't have minions voting, just ourselves which was cool. Now we need to find a balance between the two and relate them to a skill level, ingenuity and whatever we think is appropriate. It appears that Joey likes some of our creations and as such, we might ask him to submit his suggestions.

As we have all played the CTC2 games, we know that most were based on skill to win and knowledge of the weapons we had available. It is unfortunate that we cannot limit the weapon selection to how many you have of each but, we can always post it in this thread.

Hopefully, we can encourage more players to participate so that it is actually a game and not just a bomb factory!

I mean, some stuff that I have seen from retro and SSTG are meticulous creations. timestables makes it difficult even though it is a bomb shot and yours, Ernie15, are trying at best but, as a true competitor, I keep hitting the reset button to try and beat it! Ha ha ha - that is the fun of the game!

The minions tho, need to be included in the voting system. I got to think about it first!

Next Wednesday, the theme should be OFFICE as per Joey's suggestion. Anywhere in the title. 7PM GMT/12 PDT

A recommendation for voting:

0-X votes for number of hits - ratio/fraction
0-X votes for number of likes - ratio/fraction
0-X votes for hits/likes - ratio/fraction

X represents the number of participants in the competition

Final tally will be by the X# competitors and we shall rate each entry on a scale of 1 to X. Might be fun! Or at least a try!

Winner gets a cookie!

Personally, I don't care for those contests because my imagination doesn't work well under guidelines.

I am still trying to figure out how Tris manages to manipulate those freaking cones!!! ha ha ha

Go to page 1 of this thread and try to knock down Tris's

Wizard's Treehouse
in 5 shots! Or, any of Ernie's levels in whatever he allows. This is what the game is about. Complexity, deception and fun.

Some of the stuff you create is absolutely amazing in it's detail so, we now have to add that to the mix.

Who cares who wins! I still haven't got my cookie for winning a CTCPP competition - oh well... However, competition brings out the best of us and if the minions can see that we are posting at 7 GMT every Wednesday, they will take notice! 5 or 6 excellent levels right after another is amazing.

Mayan Caves

I was going to submit this as well to today's competition which is a remake of one of my older creations. Try to get those two biaches on the bottom to stay there as here is the raw code.

I like playing outside the box as it were. Figure out how to land the two queens so they don't fall over - ha ha ha

I originally designed this such that you had to flip a stone over the pyramid but, revised it for the minions.

Of course we do. What I meant is that my imagination works randomly.
Sometimes I can come up with 4 or 5 brilliant ideas at different time of the day or night and it could be anything. Sometimes I don't know what to create at all. Following a theme doesn't work for me because I feel forced to do something and my brain farts.

Alright so I've updated the CTC3 build to version 0.4. Based on limited feedback, this version features slightly stronger pieces and some minor performance improvements.

CTC3

I've added in iron pieces so you can see how those will work in the engine. They're basically indestructible, leaving for some interesting puzzle mechanics.

I've also remove the stone arches at the top. Stone is heavy so that might have been what was making it crumble so easily in the first place.

So for the legacy users, those who are accustomed to the traditional timing mechanic of CTC1 & 2, what if a "legacy" mode was offered in addition to this new mode of fire? Something where timing was crucial, similar to old golf games or the reload mechanic in Gears of War where you click again when you are within a small range on a meter/bar. It might be labeled as "hard" mode so by default noob users don't have to struggle with it.

And again, feedback is much appreciated.

Oh I forgot to mention, don't forget to clear your browser cache before you play. Right click in the game to see which version you have. Should be 0.4.
