This is a bit of a forum game, but at the same time it has the capacity to result in a bit of poetry, so it goes here. I'm going to supply a line of poetry, and the following poster is to create a poem using the line I gave as their first. Along with their poem, they supply a line for the next person to write poetry on. No restrictions on the type of line or poetry; just keep the line open ended.

Here's the first line:

A mountain pokes out awkward in the mist

The faded lines
Gently kissed horizon's edge
The sight lures me yet reminds
Time is fleeting, on its way
How I long to caress those hills one day
Alas age and health do not permit
If only I had just one wish
I'd turn back the clock of life
And see what wonders do lie
Just beyond the faded lines

Next Line: 'Twas summer in my dream

'Twas summer in my dream
Sunlight found behind my lids
Endless time not what it seemed
There we were, two loving kids

Our emotional connection
Enlightened our shadow
Eternity of protection
Tumbling in our night-glow

Sitting softly by the river
Gurgling stream passing by
I held you as you quivered
You let out a sigh

Imagination swallows
Thriving on our minds
No concept of tomorrow
Presence is what binds

If the props constrict
Highlight the beyond
Introducing conflict
Destroying the only bond

The summer in my dream
lasting forever more
Nothing else to glean
The end of the yore

Grecian symptoms provoke
And yet are not limited to
Wondering about exisitence
Musing on poetry
Making up nonsense
Putting said nonsense into to poems
Hoping no one notices
And always results in a case of the mondays

The beast reared its head

The beast reared its head,
Screeching out in vain,
Soon to be dead,
Through its blood splattered mane.

Blood swallowed sands,

Blood swallowed sands,
Of a ghostly town.
Harsh winds swept day,
To night and the sky,
Burnt orange and red.
And the winds did still.

Below the sand shook,
Visions trapped in grain,
Memories rough to the touch.
Missionaries dance on,
Through empty frames,
Where doors once stood.

Above the ceiling
A lady of sadness,
Tears for the men.
Out panels she gazes,
Glass panes shattered,
In line of sight,

And fire, but yet,
Forgotten town looks on.

Simple little memories

Is there anybody out there,
Way beyond the stars,
Is there life on other planets,
Or little men on mars?

I wonder what they'd look like,
Perhaps just like a clone,
But then again I wonder,
Maybe we're all alone!

Uhh...Miss Alien? You're actually s'osed to write a poem about the last person's theme...uhhh...

Here, I'll write Jess's, but then I'll make my theme Aliens so then you can post your poem. Savvy?

Simple little memories
The only thing that tethers me
To my old life and my old world
Mind tightly gripped, and fingers curled

Around this dusty memory
That I can just barely recall
Of things long past I wish to see
My dreams, I treasure above all

And things I wish I would've done
The time for which has come and gone
Rather than live, I chose to run
False things that I now dote upon

Eternity's a long, long time
To just sit there on your ***
I did it, I feel it's like a crime
And now I have only my past

I've opened my eyes, but it's too late
To see what is already lost
My chance has passed, shut the gates
Fear and sloth hold their hefty costs

And now I dream, and dream again
Of what I could have, just once, been
Now I have only false memories
To last me for eternity

You're not supposed to post a theme, you're supposed to post the first line for the next poem. Hence First Line Poetry..

It's okay, you can keep posting. That last one was kind of my fault, misrepresentation. It's nbd.

I'm part of the community

I'm part of the Community,
The Community of Angels,
I've gotten here on my own,
One last gift of the Fallen.

I've jumped one last ship,
Shot one last round,
Crushed one last army,
Destroyed one last town.

I've gotten here for deeds of good,
I've Fallen here on my own,
I'm one last decrepit soul,
One final remembrance.

I've met the fate of Lucifer,
Fallen for my rebellion,
I've met the fate of Muhammad,
Martyred for what is right.

I've been lost to the annals of time,
Shot down just to die,
I've sacrificed a million Angels,
Just to save one soul.

I've gone off to a war to fight,
A war that rages inside our head,
A war I'm sure we'll never win,
We're all soon to die.

Psychological warfare,
Lashes out at me,
I'm sure I won't be remembered,
But I'll fight anyway.

We're beaten blood and money,
Something for which I'm not sorry,
We're just here to do a job,
And I'm afraid it ain't pretty.

Those that are to die,
They're infected with a disease,
They mustn't leave this place alive,
I'm sure of this, my friendlies.

One last army to march,
One last town to die,
It's all reality ever wants,
For us to be destroyed.

I'm here to make sure that it's them,
I'm sure it will NOT be us,
I have faith in all my men,
And they shall not fail me.

I've come here to do a job,
The single last of its kind,
I'm fairly sure I won't make it,
But I'm sure I will not die.

Apocalyptic fire,
Reigns down on me,
Napalm smoke in the air,
Littered bodies I see.

Life will come to an end,
Even our most precious,
Remember they attacked us first,
And now they are paying the price.

Steps lively, the bombs are here
