This is a bit of a forum game, but at the same time it has the capacity to result in a bit of poetry, so it goes here. I'm going to supply a line of poetry, and the following poster is to create a poem using the line I gave as their first. Along with their poem, they supply a line for the next person to write poetry on. No restrictions on the type of line or poetry; just keep the line open ended.

Here's the first line:

A mountain pokes out awkward in the mist

The mighty bounding scallion
Rode like a Allium* Stallion
Joined by a onion battalion
Doth battle that felon hellion

But the quick runner cucumber
A rogue tubular newcomer
Sides with that guzzler Lucifer
Slashes the bean jumper's jugular

And so the costumed mushroom
Mourns her dead groom legume
Vengeance she will soon assume
The devil's fate: consumed, entombed

So it's basically about a bunch of vegetables fighting the devil, AKA veggie tales.

*scallions being of the genus "allium".

The wind blew harshly in the cold,
whispering stories yet untold,
but in the darkness of the wood,
they understood what not be should.

Yah the last line doesn't make sense sorry.

The snow drifted down, powdering the land.
Going to strand's, covering up all sand.
People's death caused by an avalanche,
They would never get back, to a ranch.
Two young children, somehow survived.
Clinging on to a cliff, for their lives.
One of the children, had then fallen.
The other, his name he was calling.
He then said; my friend is now dead.
If I live, I will definitely lose my head.
These are the last word's I will ever speak.
And now, my life will end, ending bleak.

I closed my eyes, and saw.

I closed my eyes, and saw
a world a perfect world
no pain and suffering,
streets paved with gold

I closed my eyes, and saw
the king of the land.
I reached out to join him,
and he brought me in.

Fighting my demons

Fighting my demons,
Immersing myself in pain,
Anger is all that I know.

Maybe
I'm just a self-pitying girl
Whose problems
aren't really issues,
Whose demons
Lay weak and dying.

Maybe,
I've got the flames of hell
in my soul, tearing me apart,
Killing me a bit more
with each blow.

Maybe my demons are frozen,
trapped within time,
glaring daggers at me
for I am weak.

So, continuously I fight this battle.
Continuously I am insecure,
Balancing on unjustified pain.

Slicing through my skin

Slicing through my skin
Like cheese
Nobody in mind
That I aim to please.

Just a release
Of my inner pain
Just making it real
A twisted sort of a physical gain.

You say selfish,
I say no.
You say stupid,
I let go.

Of the emotions
Stirring inside me
Why can't the world
Just let this be?
The one thing I find
To set them free
Without having to harm
Everyone around me.

Just leave it alone
So I can figure
This out on my own.
I don't need you
Every step of the way
I do this for everyone
To keep them at bay.

Driving down this slick wet road,
I need to depart this heavy load.
I want to say goodbye.
So as I run away,
I always pray,
That this guilt will go away.

What Have I done you ask?
Why do I put up a wall?
Hide behind a mask?
I'm a beast,
To say the very least.

I murdered that poor family.
Mutilated the mother.
Her 2 sons.
Fathers probably still rotting there,
I slit his his throat, I didn't care.

So Ill keep evading,
Untill Im found,
Theyll catch me, and keep be bound.
But Until they do,
I will keep on running.

New poem will begin with~

The sunlight dapples the river bed
As reeds sway in a lazy summer breeze
And fish jump for the mayflies
The sun shines on me
Laying on the banks of the Mississippi
I regret nothing!

Don't really like this one.

Watching it decay
My own hand
Lying in front of me
All that I see
Trapped

Leaving from this world
Like I can't
Slowly melting, fading
Not degrading
Trapped

Humiliating?
No, just death
Common , Natural, known
They, though, have flown
Trapped

I'm contained within
Stuck, confined
My soul won't rise, it stays
I watch it decay
Trapped.

In your eyes

In your eyes
I see fear and trepidation.
Fatal ties
To growing fatal hesitation.

In your eyes
I see blatant lust for power.
Blood and lies
Will build your cruel ivory tower.

In your eyes
I see morality decay.
True light dies
Slowly bleeding out each day.

In your eyes
I see love turn superficial.
Who denies,
That all your hearts are artificial?

My gaze is interrupted only when the mirrors break,
But the truth is still apparent that our race is a mistake.

Let the rats run down,
Over starboard ground,
As the Victory falls to me.

Let her break her bows,
Let her sailors drown,
And their restless souls swim free.

May her sails turn black,
And her ribs collapse,
And I'll call for fish to see.

That I've sank another,
Place for undercover,
Masquerading sharks to be.

I think you were born
In the wrong time and place.
No mother but scorn
To caress your pale face.

Unwanted, unloved,
Yet still made to live.
Beaten and shoved
Despite the love you would give.

You are the last
Of the humans we were.
Our time is the past;
Tyrants cannot endure.

The jewel of your heart
Is the dying world's treasure.
But the cynics still impart
Their derision and displeasure.

You are hope, you are light,
But this world no longer wants you.
We're but shadows of the night
Plagued by curses light can't undo.

I think you were born
In the wrong time and place.
Beware of our scorn;
Fools like you we'll erase.

My soul, coated in rime

It isn't much of a poem... but I can't really go on, and I wanna get this going.

My soul, coated in rime,
Cold to the touch,
Frozen in time.

Keeps me on edge, and bold.
But how long can I stay this cold?

It pains me to see
That I can never be
Truly happy, ever again.
Can't feel joy with my soul
Because it froze a long time ago
