Sexual addiction is a pattern of sexual behaviours that are out of control and continue despite negative consequences. As in other addictions, changes in brain chemistry are at the core of the addiction. In sex addiction, the changes are caused by sexual behavior and fantasizing about sex or romantic activities. Sex addiction is a process addiction because no chemicals are taken into the body. Chemical changes occur in the body because of the addicts behaviours. Any sexual activity that causes changes in body chemistry can become and addiction. Even on-line romances become addictive when they are a substitute for reality or a way to escape reality.

i'd say they were produced by the ones on the extreme side of the spectrum of people created by the prudish society... isn't going topless for women pretty much nonchalant over there?
Unfortunately (fortunately?) sex is an AMAZINGLY effective stress reliever. It's not the sex itself as I see it, but the relaxation and feeling that there is no worry in the world afterwards. But yea, the sex is good too.

BUT ANYWAY- I always thought that sex addiction was something of a... addiction to a kink, mayhaps? I knew this one guy who moved to Austria to try and persuade a nun to screw him. He ended up succeeding (or so he says). I asked him why he wanted to screw a nun.
He said it was because it was forbidden and "taboo". I notice this is quite the kink in many different cases. I.E. Romeo and Juliet. It's romantic and OMGSEXY because it's so forbidden and taboo. I hear the same rationality behind a lot of romance novels and yaoi fantards yelling it every frekkin' time I see one in life and OMIGAWD STRANGEL THEM- But back on topic.
This is a recent idea of mine, after reading through and giving it a bit of though. Perhaps sex addiction is a kink due to it being pretty ... forbidden and taboo to go around screwing everything with boobs and nipples (In other words: What I want to do with my life).

That is complete bull. It's completely hated here in America since almost everyone belongs to a religion that hates it with a passion (particularly christianity). OMGABSTINENCE this and OMGABSTINENCE that propaganda is incredibly common in teh schools as a teenager. The fact that the kid got a blowjob in the 3rd grade... well I never thought I'd be jealous of a 3rd grader. But I bet it was a fabricated truth, and the girl was in on it. IN other words: LIAZ.
But really, America is in NO WAY open to sex. It's very hush-hush about it and you can't talk about sex at all without being labeled as easy or sleezy. I mean, it's a freaking BLESSING to me whenever I can find someone who is open to the ideas of a blowjob. For whatever reason, people under the age of <INSERT COLLEGE AGE HERE> are repulsed by the idea.
Other countries seem to be fairly open to it though. For whatever reason. I think it's because they don't have the church so intwined into their governements (excluding England). Or maybe not governments, and moreso their school system.
In America: Parents, schools, church: SAVE YOUR VIRGINITY. IT IS YOUR ONLY FRIEND AND THE EVIL OTHER SEX WILL DESTROY IT.
Good Parents, schools, and the OMGSATANIST (not really) church: Practice safe sex, it prevents STDs and it can be quite invigorating! Also make sure that your partner ALWAYS has a condom that ISN'T EXPIRED. Also, if you're a girl, make sure to be on the pill if you're sexually active. Even less chance of having a child!

I doubt a year three would be sexually mature enough to want a blowjob. Let alone even be attracted to a girl (I seemed to have been a shunned exception ). In Australia land we have many sex. In soviet Australia US porn-stars don't teach virgins, virgins teach porn star! XD Sex addiction sounds horrible, but dieing from the exhaustion is a good way to go maybe?

^that was in regards to the "can't be addicted to a natural bodily functin/need. a baby... i suppose (my opinion) is probably the most purely instinctual stage of the human species... i mean i don't know if the **** fixation thing is true or not... Psychologists I've known irl have been kinda quirky.
i think an addiction is defined as desiring to re experience a certain sensation over and over again so much that you are maybe not constantly... but you think about it a substantially large amount. i mean i'm using relative terms because I can't quantify my description.... if it gets to the point where ur doing (insert random action) and yet you're constantly wishing you were elsewhere doing lets say... doing cocaine... then you probably have a cocaine addiction (granted you've tried it before).
and i believe an addiction would fall under the realm of a psychological disorder... but i didn't research that
if you are always eating... b/c food is what comforts you... then you have a food addiction. just b/c u eat 3 meals a day doesn't mean you're addicted... just b/c u eat 5 times a day doesn't mean ur addicted... its the "thinking" about it aspect that warrants an addiction.
if humans can be addicted to eating and taking craps then I'm sure that humans can be addicted to the most pleasurable of human bodily functions... which I've been told is sex.
