Now, this thread is intended to be serious, about the 'Mayan calendar' Which ends in 2012. I myself am very open to all possibilities to this life, to how we began, how we proceed and how we end.
The Mayan calendar tho, it is too much of a Gospel to be taken seriously that these Mayan's knew when time would indeed end for the world, and so they decided to stop doing the calender.
There are SO many more explanations for the date ending when it did, an yet the first thing us as depressed human beings do....we immediately think "ahhh yes, this must be when we all burn up in the sun".
So my question is this:
Do you believe that during 2012 the worlds population will decrease dramatically, and the rise of suicide will increase to an all new high?
Theory: Back in the 1930's, in New York a radio station played a story of 'War of The Worlds' it was read so good, and with such realism, people took the story to be a real news report, which resulted in thousands of people jumping off roofs, killing themselves, and ultimately saving themselves from unknown torture and destruction.
Taking that in to context, that was JUST new york, Put the world in the spotlight now, and people still have not become any wiser to facts and mythology, The world will become chaotic, certainly as the 'End Of The World' comes closer more and more people will take their lives and their families lives to save them from the uncertain fate....my belief is we will still be here in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2025, 2050, 2080....by then i would of died of old age, but the world will live on for an unknown amount of time
Not many are believing that the world will end in 2012. Most of us including myself, are relying on Scientists 'theories' & 'redictions' and nothing more.
If this was to do with ANYTHING else, in our day to day lives, we would never listen to a scientist (i do not myself, anyway), they get paid to come up with theories, and predictions and prove them, but when things such as Oreo Cookies can cause cancer pop up, we never take notice.
End of the world comes along, and scientists are our best friends.
Eh, there're a lot of people that were born to off themselves for a stupid reason. Stuffs like 2012 have to exist, because some people retain their overactive imaginations even after sneaking into the closet with a baseball bat and a pillow shield. There'll probably be a lot of suicides on December 21st, and a lot of facepalming comedians on December 22nd.
2012 is the end of the world, people hype it up that the world will fall to it's feet and we shall all perish.

Maybe we are the ones who will perish out our own feet, through suicide, through war, through blood, through anger and hatred. It could possibly in this day and age all come to a peak where so much will happen, the world will be torn apart. Who knows, all i can say is, live for today, worry about it when your dead ^_^.
Well I personally think that if 2012 is really going to happen, it's because of human stupidity. People would suicide nowadays to avoid 2012 when they're actually contributing to it. I think 2012 would be like, lessening the population of Earth, not wiping us off this planet.
think of it this way, the rate of sucicides wil go up as WELL AS the rate of conseption or s e x . with nothing to look forward to every one will have a recless orgy and then nine months lader bam, kids everwhere
I HOPE that people who believe this suicide, this will make the world's average IQ go up by so much since all those stupid people will have killed themselves.
I would really like to track the religious affiliations and the education levels of the individuals that commit suicide in reaction to the 2012 prophecy. I think it would be an interesting study to see what type of demographics are represented.

I was first told the world would end in 2000. It didn't. So what makes everyone think it'll end in 2012? Next I'll be told it'll end in 2030 and so on. The world's end can't be predicted. The world will end when it feels like it or the human race feels like destroying the world.
Why are we even using the Mayan Calendar as a source for finding the exact date of our Doomsday? It is just a calendar that loops, just like every other! Plus, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, solar storms, nuclear explosions, and meteorites aren't going to happen all at once on that precise date! What chance is there?!
We're not, exactly. Only weird fanatics with extreme paranoia are. Honestly, if anyone here actually believes that the world will end in December 2012, speak up!
While I enjoyed your play at sarcasm, we could interview family members to determine these things as they are obviously not something the mortician or the doctor performing the autopsy could learn from the body itself.
