Now, this thread is intended to be serious, about the 'Mayan calendar' Which ends in 2012. I myself am very open to all possibilities to this life, to how we began, how we proceed and how we end.
The Mayan calendar tho, it is too much of a Gospel to be taken seriously that these Mayan's knew when time would indeed end for the world, and so they decided to stop doing the calender.
There are SO many more explanations for the date ending when it did, an yet the first thing us as depressed human beings do....we immediately think "ahhh yes, this must be when we all burn up in the sun".
So my question is this:
Do you believe that during 2012 the worlds population will decrease dramatically, and the rise of suicide will increase to an all new high?
Theory: Back in the 1930's, in New York a radio station played a story of 'War of The Worlds' it was read so good, and with such realism, people took the story to be a real news report, which resulted in thousands of people jumping off roofs, killing themselves, and ultimately saving themselves from unknown torture and destruction.
Taking that in to context, that was JUST new york, Put the world in the spotlight now, and people still have not become any wiser to facts and mythology, The world will become chaotic, certainly as the 'End Of The World' comes closer more and more people will take their lives and their families lives to save them from the uncertain fate....my belief is we will still be here in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2025, 2050, 2080....by then i would of died of old age, but the world will live on for an unknown amount of time
ppl think the world will end just cause its the end of the mayan calender? i mean a calender cant have infinity pages it has to end at somepoint but that doesnt mean the world will end people thought it would end in 2000 but it didnt happen and just cause its the end of the world doesnt mean disaster and people will die it could just mean the world would change in various ways

Well, actually their calendar is very precise, if I'm right even some millidecimals more precise than our calendar. Of course the myths that are attached to it are just myths..
Ok i believe the end of the world which is the predicted armageddon date a christian belief for the end of the world which jesus comes up and fights the anti christ and all who believe will fight with him and the anti christ uses a weapon to decrease the worls population to 800 but it slowly regains and after the fight everyone will go to heaven with jesus in 2065
Here's the awfully sad thing. The Mayan Calendar is a CIRCLE. Yes, circle. A circle doesn't have an ending.
All that really is happening on December 21st, 2012 is that the circle is essentially getting back to the top. To modern-day Mayans, it's like beginning a new year.
So if you want to kill yourself because the Mayans are throwing a New years party, go ahead and do it.
the whole 2012 mayan calender could have been that that was when all who knew how to make a calender died when they got there or the decided to stop and confront the king and said "hey im sick and tired off making this calender have someone else do it"and he was executed for not do what the king told him to do.
Some people just over think everything, if it is the end of the world, then why bother discussing it? Just enjoy your life up until then and see if anything happens, why does everything have to be a debate. lol
