I'm not sure how to phrase this but considering in the majority of marriages in the USA somebody has cheated I think maybe we're naturally
polygamist or at least lenient.

no. while yes it is frowned upon, it is not a criminal offense to have multiple wives.


Really? I could have sworn that that polygamist in the South was removed and his wives freed. If it was not unlawful, then I do not see why there would have been a problem. Were those girls married against their will? Or did they willingly agree to be married to the polygamist, knowing that he had many other wives?

I need to find a source by the way. I totally forgot the name of the polygamist and the location XD

Actually according to US law polygamous marriages are illegal, although there is no law affecting sexual relations. To get around this many polygamists only legally marry one spouse, then take on the others in religious only services. However these other spouses are not and will not be recognized by law.
