I'm leaning toward Frederic Chopin or Richard Wagner. Although Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, and many others would definitely be in contention for the 'greatest ever' title.

Not only do I love their music, but classical music is the inspiration for the music we have today and on top of that it was designed to be entertainment in and of itself. People flocked from all over to come and hear an orchestra play the latest piece, or to see the newest opera much like we flock to see a live concert now.

Angus Young. Anyone who can play an awesome solo while spasming on a platform that's being raised in the air is beast.

Jimi is awesome because of his live stuff, and he can play the Hey Joe solo with his teeth. No joke

Neil Peart. He has awesome drum solos and some of his work on various Rush albums are amazing.

And to add on to that rant over there, that's like saying most bands aren't musicians. They compose their music and play it. Adding that phrase in just makes it worse
