Who here likes to mess with telemarketers and god botherer and any such person. i here say that that i love to mess with the telemarketers and agree with them and say that i will buy it then when they ask for your details slam the phone down.. i other techniques but i like this one. god botherer's i only do it if it is a middle to young aged persons. doing it to older citizens is cruel. but i do enjoy to mess with them.. just to let you guys know i follow no religion
I claimed to one that I was a Satanist and that " hell will erupt and take over heaven ". After I mentioned to him that that made us enemies, I went for my rifle. He fled.
Another time I just plain messed with him.
"Yes? Who are you?"
"Yes, excuse me I'm from the Dawson Baptist Church, would you be interested in joining our fine organization?"
"What?? You gotta speak up my hearing is messed up"
"What I meant to say is that I'm offering you an invite to our church"
"No, no, I have plenty of soap. Another guy came asking the same thing you see."
"No, I meant inviting you to our church"
"Curtis? I don't know him"
"CHURCH"
"Church? Where?"
"Dawson Baptist Church!"
"I dunno where that is"
"Why don't I drive you to where it is?"
"I don't need life insurance now go away!"
"What??"
"Good-Bye!"
Plenty of laughter in there. Almost feel bad since they are just doing their job. You would think after 100 of rejections they'd get the point.
Well a thorough knowledge of both the Bible and the Book of Mormon definitely helps. I pointed out numerous contradictions, passages in the Bible that directly state that much of what is put forth in the Book of Mormon is contradicted, and overall general debate. It was one missionary group that used to come over once a week to debate with me. I don't remember exactly what the topic was about that particular day but I remember that one of the missionaries, before they left, actually started crying. It wasn't like an over the top dramatic sobbing, but he started leaking. It was really hard not to make fun of him. I think we might have deconverted him, because they quit coming over to debate with us, when they had been coming by once a week for several months.
Eh, I just really like to debate religion. I come from a very religious family and have spent most of my life studying and debating many different religions, and as I began studying for my degree I found that religion is a very interesting subject as it pertains to human psychology as well as it's functions in society throughout history. As a result of this I've read numerous religious texts, as well as many other works pertaining to religion.
Ah, is your degree in religious studies? Or did you just do that out of curiosity?
Personally I wouldn't want to read a holy book in anything other than it's original language, which would take an incredible amount of time and effort. Simply because there is always the chance of a mistranslation.
They usually are very well equipped. However when there are obvious contradictions that have no explanation beside personal opinion it becomes difficult to explain why you hold a position. Really it boils down to personal choice, and that has no factual basis nor does it provide any convincing evidence for anything.

Hey can you block numbers on any kind of phone? i seriously get like 8 calls an hour from like 8 different places all day... i usually jsut press the hang up button before answering and that silences it. DO THEY MAKE PHones where you can block callers?
You would have to take that up with your phone company. To my knowledge you cannot block an incoming call from a specific number directly from your phone, although you can block unidentified numbers with most forms of caller i.d. service.
What I don't understand is how they get your number, my house has never been listed, yet we get calls all the time. And I doubt the phone companies or other businesses are allowed to sell our phone numbers.
