i think there should bea little banner or runner at the top of the page, below the tabs, stating a random user's birthday, with a link to that user. to prevent ghost users, simply dont include people that dont have 25 AP or so and/or 1 forum post. this name would cycle every 10 seconds or so. bad idea??? good one?

I don't like it. I would rather have all the people I know, know about my birthday and congratulate me rather than a bunch of strangers.

id rather a notification system that tells me when someone has A) posted a comment on one of the threads i have created in the forums B) 5 comments after my own comment on a thread that is not my creation. and also when someone has added me as a friend

It will increase spam... I go to the users profile, say happy bday, and got another 2 AP for a useless post! Hurray!

Ya, rly. I was surprised to find that out, too. This is why the moderators ask that users do not spam in profiles--some users likely do it just for the AP. Of course, if a user spams enough, they lose their AP. But, yes, you get 2 AP per post in a user's profile.

@SirNoobalot: Rather than a banner that updates, it could be more like something at the bottom of the screen. I suggested something similar, and Gantic said it was removed for lag and they do not know when it would come back.

You entered it into the database, so it's displaying your age. If a stranger looks at your profile every day for a year, they're going to find out your birthday at some point. If you were born on leap year, they'd just use process of elimination.

I think this would be a bad idea, even though some people currently are making threads about their birthday.. But if you have that kind of a banner, they expect even more that you say congratz and so on, so if you don't there will be more spamming with you're mean it's my birthday and you didn't even say congrats:O

so i think you should just leave it, your real friends can say congrats to you and you could just friendly point to it under your post in a forum with btw, it's my birthday=D
